While I'm not a fantastic writer, I'm pretty sure that other, better writers will show interest and join up.
From looking at it I'm intersted, but I have feck all ability to write anything decent.

You might try editing it with a technology level, try to narrow down roughly the century of technology that would be used in the city at the time. Are they using basic rifles, bows and arrows, or throwing rocks?
That might help some people to decide whether they would be interested in joining. ^^
