| Cocking his head to the side, Vergil moved at the last second as one of the closest ones came in swinging, a hundred different sword and spear points being hacked away with two well swings of Yamato's blade, as well as passing through the offending demon. Nineteen still remained, and Vergil had found it harder to cut the puppet up as he had the others on the first floor. These were tougher than they appeared, and Vergil was getting annoyed that they were still too weak to be called a challenge. Yelling at the top of his voice, Yamato danced and slashed as he cut through each of them that stood before him in turn, avoiding getting shredded by the monsters with ease despite the fact they were stronger than the ones before. Turning aside and blasting through many of the blades that had been stuck into them, Yamato was still sharp as it had ever been despite the resistance it met every time it struck anew. Three of them attacked together, hoping to crush Vergil in a web of sharp blades. Vergil appeared behind them all, and as they fell to the floor in a heap, harming themselves in the process of trying to get up, the half demon just smirked as he realized that he could make them fight themselves, making his life a bit easier. Instead of using Yamato to finish them off, Vergil simply danced around them with ease despite how many swords and such weapons had become a permanent fixture to their twisted bodies, raising a leg here and ducking his head there, watching with cold amusement as they carved each other up instead of him the whole time. By the time it was over, only one remained, badly damaged from his fellows, having had his legs removed by a razor sharp scimitar blade from a convulsing comrade that Vergil had gutted by using another of the demons, pushing them into each other. Yamato came out, slashed once across the creature's back before holding his sheath out in front of him. Sliding it slowly back into place, a loud click was heard and Vergil started to walk away, the puppet demon shattering into three pieces. | |

"Vergil..." A whisper, a voice in the darkness. "Vergil..." In front of the contestant loomed a dark, shadowy mirror. "Vergil..." It called to his soul, and the response it received took shape shortly after. "Jackpot." The whisper took on a decidedly more upbeat tone, a voice Vergil would never have expected to hear in this place. Dante's twin pistols, Ebony and Ivory, flashed to life, bullets ricocheting off the wall and the stairs. The shadowy demon took a form from Vergil's past, his own brother... Even though his strength would never live up to the form it took, this demon would be a bother.

| Dante, or at least a very good resemblance, stepped out of the shadows. Vergil wasn't fooled though, despite his heart, icy as it was, saying that this was almost too real to be anyone but Dante. His mind however, knew the truth to this little problem, and it would override his emotions in this case. "Do you honestly think I am fooled by this simple trick, doppelganger? Taking the form of my brother is just going to get you killed all the faster." Yamato came out, but Vergil didn't strike, not yet. He wanted to know just how much this demon had copied before slicing him up into bits. Then the bullets came and Vergil had to either move or block them. He chose the easier of the two as he jumped over and to the left, easily getting past the machine gun like speed of Ebony and Ivory. "You could never hit a broadside of a barn with those peashooters, copy or not." Vergil said, a cold smirk on his face as he went in with Yamato at his side. | |

| The Doppelganger stepped back, smiling, into the mirror. When he stepped forwards once more, his form held the massive Sparda, a viciously curved demonic blade. He blocked Vergil's attack, and threw the enormous weight of the blade in a surprisingly swift arc through his opponent. He would hack Vergil in two with his own past... | |

| Vergil spun to the right, bringing Yamato up to parry the blade just in a nick of time. Diverting the point away from running him through, getting a nice gash across his shoulder for his effort instead, Vergil had to admit this could be a problem if not handed correctly. Switching to Beowulf again, the half breed smiled as he slammed the 'sword' out of the doppelganger's hands, shattering the fake blade at the same time. Berial however, appeared in the demon's own hands and feet, making the blue blur wonder what other tricks this beast possessed. Their fists met, Beowulf standing against the power of the weapon his 'brother' wielded then, even though a sharp blade appeared out of the very metal that formed the gauntlets of the fire demon. At least, that's what they were supposed to represent anyway, but as it proved with Sparda, Berial started to crack as they met again and again. Ducking a swing and blocking a kick with his armored hand, Vergil smirked as more cracks started to appear on the 'magical' weapons that the clone used. The left greave broke first as Vergil swept the feet out from under the doppelganger, and then Beowulf was poised to slam into the demon's face, only to be stopped by the monster's right hand. The force of the blow though was enough to shatter that gauntlet as well, and the offending hand. It was enough though to allow 'Dante' out from under Vergil, back flipping and getting Vergil under the chin in the process as he got away. Vergil shook the blow off as nothing more than a nuisance, and the half breed followed right behind him, getting a hand around the monster's throat, slamming him into the wall behind them. Berial's remaining gauntlet came up, and Vergil blocked it with his free hand, twisting it hard enough to break the arm. Squeezing the life from the demon, Vergil looked in satisfaction as the creature found it increasingly difficult to breath. "Prepare to go back from the world from whence you came." The doppelganger chocked and squirmed, until eventually there was no more fight from it. Slamming it into the ground, Vergil snapped the creature's neck just to be sure before heading for the stairs again. | |

The stairs glowed blue, a shimmering wave of cool air expanding from it in pulses of frosty mist. From the coldest of the steps arose a new army... A wall of twelve blue demons, about the size and shape of small guerrillas. They bellowed and snarled in unison, eyes locked on the intruder to their turf.

| They resembled Frosts, but they weren't as Vergil saw. These were weaker, but not all that much as he pulled Yamato free from its sheath. Slamming it home into one of them across its chest, the blade was stopped halfway through its chest. The demon yowled in pain and slapped the blade and the hand aside, freezing both a little bit on contact. Staying on the stairs, just barely, Vergil had to wonder how long he could last at this rate as he sliced in again two more times, this time taking the life from the beast as he severed the arm and the head from the rest of it. Jumping over an ice spear, sending it back to its source by spinning Yamato like a shield in front of him and cutting the spear down to size, Vergil lined the shards up and sent them back hard enough to cut the next one down to size. Jumping up as the next one did, Vergil ran across the wall and met the beast halfway through its jump, slicing into it three times as they fell, two across its chest and one across the back, having spun as he jumped off and landing behind it. Making for the ledge, the half breed continued in this fashion, taking them out one at a time, getting hit twice by shards of ice they threw at him. Shrugging the attacks off as minor annoyances before going in to finish the job. Three more fell in rapid succession as Yamato sliced through limbs and bodies with relative ease despite having to dodge and duck a bit more than previous encounters. When it was over, Vergil had a spear of ice sticking out of his right arm which he quickly cut and pulled free before moving on, the wound already closing up before his eyes. It would still be a while before it healed completely though. | |

An inky black portal appeared on the stairs in front of Vergil. A similar patch of darkness opened at the top of the staircase, a few feet before it disappeared beneath the stone ceiling of this section of the tower. This portal would lead to a rather unusual challenge... Vergil would find himself in a sphere of water, in pitch darkness, with now way to know where his opponents were... Five violently hungry and exceptionally large piranha waited to consume him.

| The fish were almost half his size, and that meant a lot of different factors would have to be measured in this fight. One, he would have to end it quickly because even he couldn't hold his breath forever, and two, Vergil didn't want to end up piranha food in the process. One zeroed in, and Vergil, despite being unable to see ten feet in front of him, could almost feel it rushing through the water towards him. Sticking Yamato out at the last second, Vergil moved to the side and let the fish cut itself in half on the blade. Too bad two more came in and passed by before he could get them, one of them taking a bite out of him on its way by. Blood in the water was not a good thing since the remaining four went in at the same time. Vergil managed to get one once again as it tried to get him, Yamato being shoved down its throat, but again Vergil wound up taking another hit as he rolled to dodge two more, the third raking its teeth across his back. Two left, and already Vergil was hurting from the attacks. He would have to think of something else before they tore him apart. Beowulf came out this time, meeting both demonic piranhas as they made a beeline for his hands, hoping to tear them off. Instead, they ended up shattering their teeth on the weapons. Attempting to swim away, dazed and confused, Vergil grabbed one by the tail and swung it hard enough to turn both of them into puddles of goo, shattering the water bubble in the process. Falling to the stone stairs, Vergil panted and gasped, trying to catch his breath from holding it for so long. His blue coat was shredded, leaving his black undershirt underneath the only thing he had for clothing on his upper body. His pants were fine though, just waterlogged. Leaving the jacket behind, Vergil moved on up the flight of stairs.

Sorin stood in the exact center of a circular room. The walls of said room were made up of stained glass portraying demonic acts of unspeakable terror. Sorin thought he saw some facsimiles of his relatives dead in the glass. Sorin didn’t feel any remorse because the glass was most likely an interpretation of what actually happened rather then a reality. Angels did not die. Sorin was there, stood in the center of this perfectly circular room. This room had at one side and set of stairs leading up to him, directly behind him was a magical barricade dealio leading to a set of stairs leading up to the next floor. He had a pair of black designer jeans on his runic sword strapped to the right side of his belt. He stood there his wings covering himself like a shroud. He knew that when he chose to open his wings he’d look like nothing other then the angel of death.
He thought that was pretty awesome.

| Vergil looked at as he walked up the stairs, one hand on the hilt of Yamato's blade. The room was impressive, but he wasn't interested in the fine art. He was still sore and hurting from the piranhas that hit him, but the wounds were more than halfway closed up by then. Seeing the angel, at least he looked like on, Vergil stopped halfway up to where he was located. "Who are you? Why are you here?" Vergil's cold voice shouted out, taking his time to reach where his next opponent was shrouded in his feathery wings. | |

| The floor rumbled, and the building shook in response to Vergil's questioning of the angel. A dark shape moved behind him, making the sight of the winged terror all the more unsettling... Until a massive mace studded with human skulls slammed into his side, knocking him cleanly through the window opposite his entry. The mace's owner, a gargantuan triclopes with noxious breath and skin like leather, roared his appreciation at the sudden exit. He stood over nine times Vergil's height, appeared to be made of solid muscle, and no intentions of slowing down as he whipped the mace around his back to stretch his massive arm to it's limits. The very leading edge of the mace, itself the size of a tree, whipped through the air towards Vergil. | |

| The angel disappeared to be replaced by some kind of monstrous giant of a creature. The mace hit him a second later, and Vergil was slammed through one of the windows hard enough to be sent flying. Glass shattering, feeling more than a few bones crack, Vergil groaned in pain and rage, a blue aura cracking with electricity surrounding him before his Devil Trigger was brought to the surface. His wounds closed up in an instant as black wings appeared on his back, his face changing to that of a hideous facade of its former cold beauty. "You made a terrible mistake, attacking me like that." Vergil shouted, his voice gaining a level of demonic power as well, sending chills down most enemies' spines. Using his wings to gain altitude, Vergil landed back in the room, Yamato coming out fast enough to send an energy wave of his might at the beast, exploding against the thing's chest as the demon half breed rushed in right behind it.
((How's that for a start?))

| A thin red line, drawn across the monster's chest, irritated it. A few scattered drops of blood seeped through, and he reacted with fury. His hand launched forwards, as the mace was still extended from it's violent outburst. He lashed out instinctively, seeking to grab and crush the half demon. | |

| Vergil was much too quick for such a simple tactic as he dodged to the side, Yamato singing its deadly song as it sliced through half of the creature's fingers and part of its hand. He went for the ball and chain next, trying to cut through the weapon itself. But, even in DT, the chain was too strong for a single slice as Yamato slammed into the length of it and instead only made a small crack appear on the thing. Besides that, the entire chain was covered in human and demon skulls, making it that much more dangerous to even be standing on, let alone trying to cut through as Yamato shattered a human skull as it passed by, turning it into a sharp mess of bone instead of doing any real damage. Instead, Vergil turned his glowing eyes on the monster itself. Seeming to disappear into thin air, Vergil appeared above the thing, having teleported onto the thing's back, driving Yamato into the right side of its neck, hoping the vein that was on a human was in the same place as he swung hard, releasing more magic from the blade, only adding to the destructive force behind his already deadly attack.
