| For years the Taliban have been formulating a master biological weapon to combat America and the rest of the world. One so contagious and hidden that by the time it was discovered it would be too late to stop it. In 2009 they had it. The formula for the super biobomb slipped silently into the US by mail, a letter sent to Doctor Samson Deeds, researcher at one of the largest biowarfare research facilities in the US, kept secret from the majority of the population. There he bided his time, cooking up the deadly bomb in secret, waiting for the order. In June of 2010 it came. Dr Deeds packed up the vial of the gaseous bomb and casually walked into the crowded bustling JFK International Airport in New York, saying a silent prayer as he releases the gas, simply by opening the vial in his pocket.
First symptoms came in December of '10 like a flu: fever, aches, chills,; then came the nausea on top of that and constant headaches. Within a week of the nausea starting, the internal hemorraging started and soon the hospitals were full of the dead and dying. The people often tines went mad before the end, some killing themselves while others suffered right till the end. By June of 2011, the epidemic had hit every country and by December...it was over. The dead were everywhere for when the hospitals filled up the dying were stuck at home, filling the streets and churches.
Strangely, the sickness did not effect everyone. Adults ages 21 and up were decimated...completely wiped out. Children ages 14 and down were mostly gone as well. But ages 15-20 had not been effected at all by the disease, taking care of each other as they watched their parents die in front of them. They now live in groups called "Tribes" around the world, living and surviving together as a family. They rule themselves, protect territory, wage wars, and form alliances.
It's now August of 2012, 2 years after the attack and 9 months after it was over. Two Tribes control downtown Norfolk, Virginia. One, who call themselves the Logos, resides in the mall, ruling the three stories and using it as their homes, the stores serving as rooms. The other Tribe call themselves the Alphas and reside in what is left of the local university. The dorms are no longer completely standing but the classrooms of the main building are all intact and used as rooms. These two tribes are rivals and constantly testing the lines of each other's territory.
I am hoping to ideally have 5 members of each tribe, perhaps two or three older ones (17-20) and the others younger (15-16) for each. I am going to try and get a map of Norfolk for here to show the locations but I wanted to see if anyone was interested.

| Name: Alex Nakamura Age:(15-20) 20 Appearance: - Spoiler:
Tribe: Alphas Role in Tribe: Sniper/Scout Personality: On the outside, cold, quiet, always deep in thought. When spoken to, it's almost as if he's ignoring the person talking, and his replies are usually very short yet very precise. Life before the biobomb: Before the biobomb, Alex, was totally different. He was an outgoing person, he loved life, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the one people could turn to in a crisis, as he had a calm head, and always seemed to know what to do. His parents were strong-willed people, his mother attempting to enter the world of politics, and his father a highly ranked officer in the US Navy. He had a little sister whom he adored, and he took her everywhere with him, whenever she wasn't in school. They were like partners in crime. Then the bomb hit. His family were all at home at the time, and he was running an errand into town. He came home and found his parents dead in the front room, but worse, and this tore his heart to pieces, his beloved little sister, he found dead in her room, where she had been playing with her toys. Life after the end: After the end, Alex had completely changed. Retreating inside himself, he became a closed off, cold figure. In anger, he'd ran non stop, seemingly for hours, until he reached the university. There he met some other people, all with similar stories, and he became accepted into the Alpha "Tribe". His lack of emotion helped breed a steady nerve, which in turn gave him a very steady hand. This lead to him picking up a sniper rifle, and designating himself the lone scout on the roof of one of the university class buildings, his designated room located on the top floor of the building, so he didn't have to go far. He was alone for pretty much all this time, looking through the scope on his rifle to scout the area for any potential threats.

| Name: James 'Giant' Whitlock Age:(15-20) 17 Appearance: Deeply tan, massive, intimidating, and athletic with a refined face. He gives off an impression of being older than he is, especially with his hulking 6' 3" 240 lb frame. He has Native American in him, seen in the skin and hair color. Tribe: Logos Role in Tribe: Bouncer, bodyguard, brick wall, however you describe it his sharp mind, excellent hearing and decidedly dangerous size make him an excellent protection against intrusion. He also has a firm grasp of medicine, and moonlights as the doctor of the group. Personality: Fiercely protective of his friends, with a certain moral gray area view that makes him dangerous to piss off. If it feels like the right thing to do, it probably is in his book. Even if that would 'normally' be considered a rash, dangerous, rude, illegal thing. He plays chess, not football, but works out constantly to keep himself valuable to his tribe. Life before the biobomb: A quiet, back of the room student who listened carefully but stayed out of the center of attention. He never took shit, so it was rarely ever given to him, but he wasn't considered popular. He had his fair share of friends, including a handicapped student who died in the chaotic aftermath of the biobomb. His father was a doctor, and he learned a great deal from assisting weekends at the clinic. He did his research on interesting cases, studying in hopes of following his dad's footsteps and even exceeding him as a surgeon. He had no siblings, and his mom had left his career minded father early, not interested in caring for a child alone on the reservation. He visited her during summers, and learned outdoor survival skills and natural medicinal practices. He was generally happy with his life, though he could have had more social interaction if he hadn't been so opinionated about politics. Too bad politics more or less ended, he'd rather have stuck to the arguing than this. Life after the end: When the world fell down around him, his dad was one of the first to fall ill. He'd apparently treated a patient who had been exposed at the station, and been among the first to transact the contagious disease second hand. James went to the reservation, walked actually since by the time he collected himself enough to decide where to go the public transportation infrastructure was closing down to prevent the disease from spreading further. It took him nearly a month to get there, but eventually he arrived to find the entire place deserted save for a few teenagers who had formed a violent gang and were now trying to 'take back' the land once stolen from their heritage. He left, and wandered back towards the city he had known to find a way to survive. Though his return trip was faster, by the time he had arrived the body count had reached it's final staggering proportions. He survived on his own for a while, finding food wherever he could through the city, before he found the Logos. He decided that in rebuilding the world, his role would be best served protecting as many lives as possible with his medical knowledge. He worked tirelessly to attain peak physical form, and uses his strength to protect his new home in both mind and body. | |
