| UpdatedViemera (V_eye_mera) Seed. It is all around us, It is everywhere and in everything and everyone; the source of all life on this world, It is the very life-force of the planet. In the land of Viemera humans have come to rely upon it as a source of power and the basis of all their advanced technology. It is believed by spiritual leaders that there is a gigantic pool of Seed beneath the earth, and it is form this pool that life was first created and it is where the Seed arises from to touch everything on the planet. This is accepted as fact throughout Viemera by almost everyone. One fact that is based on science rather than faith, is that Seed can be transformed into a palpable form of energy, a substance called Essence through a molecular process and the use of huge factories which draw Seed from the atmosphere to be converted to and stored so that it can power cities and fuel technological development. From this process, many new technologies have been formed, from lighting to locomotion to guns that fire concentrated Essence, to industrial machines. Unfortunately this seemingly limitless and versatile power source comes with one major draw back; it relies on the existence of a single woman, born once every three generations. Without this Woman Seed lies Dormant and inactive, unable to be converted to Essence it becomes essentially useless, on top of this, agricultural production seems to drop by about 20%. This Woman is referred to as the ‘ Goddess’ or ‘ The Source’ and is protected under every law possible. There is also a grand Temple of the Goddess located somewhere in the mountains for the training and protection of the Goddess. If the Goddess dies then the land suffers and the people must rely on the Essence already stored up in the factories as no more can be created. The land must wait until the next Goddess is born and reaches her 16th birthday when her powers emerge. There is sometimes a “drought” where subsequent generations go without a goddess and there is not enough essence left to power their technology, resulting in a famine. This is the reason why alternate technologies are being explored and why many people use Low-Tech tools e.g. the City guards utilize Essence powered guns which fire a kind of green plasma (green being the neutral color of Essence) but also carry ordinary swords. The Goddess has been noted to be able to do many strange and fantastic things which many would term ‘magical’. However it is a product of Seed, which is behind all great mysteries. The Goddess is not the only one who possesses paranormal powers, in fact, while uncommon it is not so rare to find many other individuals with fantastic powers. There are people in Viemera born with a gift that manifests at the age of 14 for boys and 12 for girls. These people are called Saturates because they have a higher saturation of seed in them than normal and their gift is 2 fold, the 1st is the ability to directly convert the potential power of Seed into the refined power of Essence within their own bodies and even store a small amount for later use. The 2nd is the use for the Essence. Saturates are gifted with other special abilities and powers and can be placed into three distinct categories; Summoners: - Spoiler:
Summoners Use the Seed around them as well as the Essence stored within their body to create physical creatures (or in very rare cases, objects), this is known as Summoning. These Saturates can only summon one creature that is specific to the Summoner, e.g. a Lion or a Troll. The creature that they summon is the same each time but will become more powerful and in most cases larger as they experience different things particularly through battle. The Summoner can un-summon their creature at any time and if it is injured when they do so, it will be fully healthy upon it’s return when it is next summoned. However, a Summoner uses a great deal of energy when using their ability so it is extremely taxing to un-summon then re-summon in succession so doing so leaves the person physically exhausted. If the Summoned creature is killed then the person who summoned it suffers a massive fatigue, leaving them on the brink of collapsing and in desperate need of rest. Additionally when their creature is summoned again it will back at its original power and size and all experience must be regained. This means that a Summoner must be extremely careful not to let their creature die. A noted side effect associated with Summoners is animalistic social behavior. What this really is, is that as their Creatures grow more powerful they become more attuned with them as a result the Summoners begin to take on subtle physical and personality traits of their summons. Users: - Spoiler:
Users, after converting Seed to Essence within their bodies, can then change the properties of the Essence and expel it form their bodies, directing it’s flow as one form of energy or another, quite often as some sort of element, such as fire, light, sound or ice. Each user can only use one form of energy element. Their power depends on the person casting it, but control over their element i.e. the ways in which they can change the flow and shape of the energy, simply comes down to practice and talent. While all of the Saturates can prepare and store essence inside their body in advance, Users have an affinity for this and can store double or more essence than the other two types of Saturates, depending of course, on the power of the individual. Manipulators:- Spoiler:
Manipulators have a talent which shares a comparison with both Summoners and Users. To a limited distance Manipulators can reach out and connect to the seed that is ever present in everything, and then bend it to their will, like the other two types of Saturates this power is usually specific to one type of manipulation e.g. can only change light, or only water, or perhaps peoples brain chemistry. Manipulators are generally the most subtle of the three Saturates, given the nature of their talents they can evade more obvious attention and avoid the generally suspicion that Saturates are generally viewed with. Manipulators also require the least power to use their talents, still requiring the conversion of Essence to accommodate their abilities, but since they use the Seed that is in everything for their function, they do not need as much enrgy as Users or Summoners. It is even possible to manipulate time for certain, incredibly rare Manipulators because Seed is present in the land of all Viemera through all time. However those few who are gifted with this rare ability all end up insane because eventually sooner or later, temptation will cause them to reach into a time in the far distant future when there is no Seed. This usually ends in instant death or if not, suicide of the Unfortunate person.

| I like it, it's an awesome world very nicely thought out and balanced. I'd like to see character sheets so I can put up a Summoner, but I'm not entirely sure where the conflict comes in. You did say you had more plan than this, so I'll roll with it until you make the big reveal. | |

| excellent, good to see your interest Mike, and Shiroi-Ka..always a pleasure. Maybe if one more person shows interest i'll post up the sheets and some of the story chapters we might like to play. there'll be a choice of 3 or 4, each from a different era/generation of Viemera. Can't really post anything significant till i get home though. XD | |

| Hmm perhaps 3 whole people is a bit too high of an expectation, perhaps i'll try RPGFO, you two are of course welcome to join.. the other alternative is just having a more exclusive RP with the 3 of us. That would be slow going though as i'm at school most days. I'll have a think about it, what do you guys think?
I'll post up some of the storylines available later if you're still up for it.

| I'm good with slow RP's, I work 4 days a week anyways and sometimes more. A slow RP is great, if it's an alive RP. | |

| I'm good with about anything, I just want to give my Summoner a shot. *Grins* I've got a badass summon, The Arch Glider. He's detailed here. Of course, some things will be changed since he'll be my primary defense here, instead of a secondary. For one thing, he'll be way more useful. *Laughs* | |

| Alright so i updated the first post with just a little extra information on the different classes. by the way kaki i love that sugar glider of yours XD
So for the plot, i've been thinking we don't actually have enough people to play through as the main characters but what we can do is still play in the era of those events. On the plus side it means we can make our own story as we go.
Alright so the First Era was the enslavement of Saturates to build a Tower which eventually resulted in the creation of three immortal Saturates (coincidentally 1 of each type) their's is another story but the creation of the tower itself doesn't have any major main characters so we could all play that easily. Perhaps if we get far enough we can include the raizing of the tower afterward.
The Second Era is a few hundred years later after the longest drought recorded, there had been no goddess for a couple hundred years and the Essence stores had depleted many years ago. Saturates and Seed are all but forgotten among this world by all but a select few who believe the legends. There is one man by the name of Siro who has been wandering the land for a very long time, searching out the next goddess. He cannot die until he finds her and once he does he must ensure she can be inaugurated at the Goddes of the temple. To do this he must teach her what he can to keep her safe because there are forces who would kidnap her for their own nefarious purposes. The Major Corporations would love to get their hands on her and monopolize the Essence before other companies re-develope the tools to create it. The Goddess will recruit Saturates to her cause and bind them to her. This is the very main plot in my story and as such there are already well developed characters. having said that we can replace them with our own, it just means a lot of NPC to conduct which is a pain.
The Third Era involves a madman with an incredible foreign power. he seeks to put an end to The Source, and not just th Goddess but Seed itself. To do this though he needs the Goddess, no easy feat given her bodyguards and worshipers at The temple of the Goddess. This madman will start a way, turning normal people against Saturates to fracture the general population before invading with his own inhuman army. It will be our job to ensure this madman does not get his hands on the goddess. Or rather, that's the plot of the era, if you like we can run our own stories about getting dragged into the war.
The Fourth Era is many many many years later and is much less Steampunk and a lot more..Final Fantasy. In this Era the central Government has long since captured the goddess and preserved her in a liquid solution so that she will not die and they can control her solely. Society has been fractured into the high-class and the poor, any saturates relegated to slums where they survive in mixed gangs of those with and without power. The government rounds up any saturates they can find and ship them off to private facilities to be disected or enslaved. Join or Die.
This Plot is still in the developemental stage and anything can happen, it is less taditional fantasy and more sci-fi fantasy with a lot more futuristic technology.
so that's it, what do you think? we can pick one or we can try making our own..it's all good at this point.

| Name: Robert Marles Gender: Male Age: 19 Weapons: A mid length sword he calls the Blade of Song, and his ever faithful Arch Glider, who he affectionately refers to as Sasha. Appearance: Robert Marles, training. Personality: His kindness and generosity only outweighed by his desire to grow stronger, he actively seeks out strong fighters to compete with. Even battles he knows he can't win, he chooses to look for and fight to learn from those above him. He spends a great deal of time wandering from town to town, looking for the strongest people in their styles, and also helping anyone he runs across. Often he finds himself embarrassing local thugs to the amusement and relief of their usual victims. He has a strong protective instinct for Sasha, his summon, and trains her daily to ensure she can protect herself if he finds himself occupied. Type: Summoner Powers: His skill with a sword not withstanding, his greatest asset is his summon, Sasha. A species he refers to as the Arch Glider, Sasha is a nocturnal marsupial related in appearance and original size to a Sugar Glider. Her coloration is a creamy tan underside with rich blue stripes down her back similar to a skunk, and minuscule flecks of brilliant red scattered among her fur in a unique pattern. She has four legs, with furry webbing spread between the front and back legs on each side, which allow her to glide for long distances or easily fall great heights without injury. She has large black eyes which see quite well in all lighting, a triangular head shape, four claws on each back foot and five claws, one 'thumb-like' in function, on each front foot. She can hold onto some rough surfaces with just her back legs, and her tail is almost as long as her entire body, affording her great aerial maneuverability and balance, as well as recently becoming strong enough to lift small things as an extra limb. Though she was first created the size of a normal Sugar Glider, she is now the size of a medium squirrel. Her capabilities range from her physical form's talents, including a piercing scream that can carry great distances, to her more seed based talent to adapt to an element she's been surrounded in such as water, and use it for a limited time as a weapon. After baths she often blows water bubbles for amusement, and has also been known to cook small bugs after laying near the fire for a nap. This power manifested slowly, and has only recently begun seeing use for her on any practical level. Bio: When Robert was born, his father escaped to the other side of town to avoid his responsibilities. His mother had expected it, but it still left her with little income and almost no prospects. Robert grew up with little, but he never asked for much and he kept mostly to himself, head down, eyes in a book or playing in the small patch of woods near his house. As with most Saturates, Robert went entirely unnoticed even to himself until he was fourteen, almost at his fifteenth birthday in his case. He had a vivid imagination and few friends, and lived in a dark part of town that did little to draw interest from anyone save as a running joke. He often played by himself, always with his constant imaginary companion, Sasha. It wasn't until his mother sat at the table and watched her crawl sleepily out of his breast pocket that he realized what he was, and he lied quite proficiently about it. "Don't worry, she's friendly! I found her at the park! She must have run away from somewhere." She had odd coloration for a sugar glider, but her behavior and size seemed to be in line with the species and nobody asked very many questions. Drawing attention to the situation in this part of town could only bring trouble to everyone, and even the whistle blower wouldn't see any praise for it. He passed his first black belt in martial arts, Su Bok Do, at the age of sixteen. He met his father at the age of seventeen, briefly, but the reunion was awkward and neither had any real desire to establish a relationship by this point. He continued with weapons training with his instructor and found another class, Judo, to begin work in as well. Now, at the age of nineteen, he has three black belts from accelerated classes and advanced placement testing, and his Su Bok Do is up to third degree black belt. He has his advance belt classes in short swords, disarming opponents, and his instructor's personal class 'Advanced Stealth'. In this part of town, and being by this point more obvious as a summoner, the ability to disappear and to initiate preemptive strikes is very useful. RP sample: (must be original, no old RP samples to be used. please make it a decent length.) I'll be back to finish this when I can, I'm starving. Hopefully done before work today, but I may put it off till tomorrow. I think I should wait, since his bio and the sample of him will be heavily influenced by where/when we are in the RP.Now I'm just running into serious business, and I apologize for it. I'm in the middle of getting things set up for a big change, and I haven't had just masses of spare time to work on RP's. Hopefully that'll change soon, and I can put more effort into it. The big moment happens in about 8 days give or take, and will probably last nearly a week after that. I'm in and out in the meantime. Wish me luck!

| I'm good for 1 or 4 on the era, actually, but my first instinct was 4. Mainly, I wouldn't want to be in any era where Seed wasn't currently used, since Sasha is nearly half of my character. | |
