WoW RP - interest check

World of Warcraft, we all know it, some of us play it. I'm going to start an RP based on it. Depending on interest and character preferences will sway which way I'm going for the plot - it's not that I haven't got one, it's that I've too many and yet not certain on which path to follow.

I will be allowing some modifications to characters, for instance with Cataclysm there's new race/class combinations like a Blood Elf Warrior or Night Elf Mage. Including two new races, buuuuut I'm not going to allow the races happening. There are tweaks that will be accepted, like being a High Elf, Half-breeds (Human x high elf, Blood/High Elf x Night Elf, things like that which actually could happen with the background of races), a defected Ally/Horde, traitor. You can be liberal with character creation but it still has to have roots in WoW.

So yes, INTEREST CHECK GO!

The story is set in current times with the game, in Wrath of the Lich King.
Arthas has awoken, the scourge infest more and more areas of Azeroth. Fleeing to Outlands was not an option, the unstable nature of the alien land had claimed the lives of many, and while the threat of Kael'thas, Illidan and Lady Vashj have since been removed, the events of the Sunwell Plateau, Kil'Jaeden the demon lord and his desire to use the Sunwell in the form of Anveena, many have felt it necessary to remain on Azeroth and keep it safe and secure from other threat. This includes the Lich King.

Arthas has put forth the challenge, the taunt to Azeroth's 'heroes', the 'champions' to come. But there are more challenges to face other than the Lich King and the scourge. Malygos and the Blue Dragonflight attempt to 'fix' magic and what the mortals have done to it. The Titans begin to fall, succumbing to the very Old God that they were to keep imprisoned, Yogg-Saron. Algalon the Observer gathers information about Azeroth to send back his code to either wipe out all life and start over, or to leave it be.

The Argent Crusade's colliseum has been built in Icecrown, calling all who wish to join in the battle against the Lich King in Icecrown Citadel and test their strength and courage in battles within the walls. Tirion, King Varian, Jaina, Thrall and Garrosh each stand in the Colliseum, watching their participants, eager to begin the march on the Citadel.

The ultimate goal remains just out of reach for some, and there are many who will do whatever it takes to achieve their own goal, one way or another.

Name: Othello Baxtabber.
Race: Undead.
Class: Rogue.
Speciality: Othello is greatly skilled in the uses of throwing axes, one handed swords and daggers, anything else to him seems like way too much on his plate. He specializes in stealth kills, coming from out of the darkness with his three signature weapons, his throwing axe, his trusty sword, and his vengeful dagger.
Faction: Horde.
Personality: Othello is a very silent rogue, he keeps everything to himself, like how the people back in Tirisfal Glades taught him. His personality seems to change whenever he goes into battle, becoming filled with bloodlust, rage and the temptation to dismember every foe he comes across.

Background: In the times when Othello existed as one of the greatest human rogues that had ever existed, he had witnessed everything from the orc takeover to the constant attacks from the Horde. The last time he had been called into battle was to face a one of the mightiest of enemies he would ever face, and unfortunately his last. The Scourge. He had fought with much valor, and with all the strength he could muster, but alas, the weak minded Rogue was vanquished. The final sight he saw was his enemies standing before him, slowly fading to black. He slowly became a servant of the Scourge, becoming cannon fodder, a meat shield, that is until Arthas shattered the throne and had taken Nerzhul upon himself. This released Othello's grip as he ran, becoming one of the Forsaken.
Goal: Othello's one true goal is to become one of the Rogue trainers within The Undercity, so he will be able to help young rogues within their journeys and ventures.

I'll be touching it up later, and including a Background. Right now, I have some company, so I have to head off.

Name: Artemis Morningstar

Race: Blood Elf/Sin'dorei

Class: Rogue

Speciality: Artemis has been trained both as a gladiator and as a skilled assassin since the tender age of thirty. His twin swords have been the death of many of his opponents, cutting through their flesh like butter and their life stealing enchantments taking their very souls. He's quite fond of playing with his prey before he kills them, offering taunts and showing them just how futile it is to face him to the very end.

Faction: Neutral

Personality: Artemis is cold and calculating, and most importantly, a mercenary. He thinks with his coin purse first and foremost, taking any risk that comes to him. For the right price. He is also a thistlehead, taking great pleasure in bloodthistle to the point that some would consider it debilitating.

Cut across Artemis cheeks from the corners of his lips are two long scars from an undetermined source. He has only once revealed the truth of his scars once to a single person, but otherwise he enjoys creating elaborate stories about where he got his scars. His body is marred with countless other scars, and usually bruises from his near constant missions. Along with his scars, he has three tattoos. One on his upper back that came from his brother set in old Quel'dorei markings, one on his left shoulder of a black drake, and another on his chest of a worgen's face. The tattoos, however, are mostly unnoticeable due to some experiments by his twisted warlock brother; the armor he wears beyond his hood and pauldrons is grafted to his skin, tight on his emaciated form.

Background: Artemis Morningstar is an elf of 371 years. He joined the Blood Elves when he was revived after being nearly murdered by his brother, Tessral, hungry for vengeance and any way to make himself stronger. Over time, he became a skilled assassin and swordsman, one murder at a time.

Born Artemis Felsky, he abandoned his family name after founding the Midnight Syndicate, going to great lengths to bring together some of the most skilled assassins and toughest strong arms to create his organization. He now works as the shadowy Boss of the Midnight Syndicate, taking any dirty job that comes along at a price.

Goal: Artemis is simply out for himself, looking for the best way to make a quick coin. His arrogance has led him to take up the challenge of fighting in the several arenas dotting Azeroth and Outland, while he has also taken on insurmountable odds in the name of making money, usually with a group of adventurers that he has duped into working with him, only leaving them high and dry after the deed is done, sometimes even killing them. Artemis controls a shadowy organization called the Midnight Syndicate, a group of assassins and heavy handed thugs that do anything for he right price, and he is not above using his various contacts within the group to get what he needs done completed in the utmost efficiency. His current target could be considered one of his most suicidal and dangerous as of yet; Malygos.

So Arty's back to having black hair huh? But yay an Arty!

Okay before you all freak out upon the mass of characters I'm about to unleash, there are only two characters that will be... part of the main story, the others are background and progression characters.

The two main characters that I will be working with are:

Name: Mikael Dawnsun
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Warrior
Speciality: Mikael is a very strong warrior wielding a great two-hand weapon, currently being a giant sword.
Faction: Scourge
Appearance: Blonde, Tanned, muscles in the right places. The typical sort of Blood Elf male with a very long ponytail.

Personality: Mikael is a sleaze. He'll try to get onto anything, male or female, whatever race. But he is also extremely charasmatic and doesn't come across as too bad more often than not. He is also one of the living agents of the Cult of the Damned and is incredibly loyal to the Lich King and is ultimately an evil sleazey bastard but is so good at disguising his intentions that he has never been seen through by any and is generally seen as a sleaze.
Background: Mikael was once a loyal Blood Elf until the attack on Silvermoon. Upon seeing the force that Arthas lead, he devoted himself to Arthas and eventually to the Lich King. He became a member of the Cult of the Damned and spent his time as a sleeper in the Blood Elf forces. When the news spread of the Lich King in Northrend and the Horde and Alliance began to build strongholds in the Tundra and Fjord, he was one of the first aboard the Zepplins to Northrend and began his proper mission.
Goal: To lead 'heroes' and 'champions' astray, to his King.


Name: Ena Van Cleef
Race: Human
Class: Warlock
Speciality: Ena is unrivalled at controlling curses and inflicting suffering upon her opponents. While she can be destructive, she doesn't like to be.
Faction: Alliance-ish
Appearance: Ena has long black hair like her father, that comes to a peak mid-back. While she isn’t pale, she’s also not very tanned as she has spent several years in the underground hideout with her father and the Defias. She has brown eyes that look as though they could pierce into your very soul to find out your secrets, especially if it has to do with her father. She has just reached her 21st year.

Personality: Ena resents the people who killed her father. She is very understanding but not particularly patient and finds herself often using curses as a way of getting information quickly. Ena is also very likely to immolate someone if she sees them attacking a critter.
Background: Ena came from a loving family, both her parents spoiled her rotten. Her father was busy with his reconstruction of Stormwind City with the other Stone Masons after the orcs had ruined it, promising her that when it was finished he would take her on a tour himself and buy her the best present in the world. She did get the tour, however he never received his payment and they rebelled.
When he created the Defias Brotherhood, Ena's mother left declaring she wanted no part of the dirty work they did and tried to take Ena. Ena wanted no part of it and stayed with her father. Ena helped her father expand the Brotherhood and even find a place for their hideout.
Ena was out the day the hideout was stolen into and her father slain gathering some food for what was meant to be her Birthday dinner. When she returned she found the Brotherhood dead along the mine tunnels, in the docks, on the ship, even old Mr Smite lay in his own blood, and in fear she ran up to find her slain father surrounded by the fallen bodyguards she had left. Enraged Ena swore to find who killed her father and eventually knowing without supplies and support she could never find who killed him, she went to the King and pledged her loyalty to the Alliance... For now.
Goal: To get revenge on the people who killed her father.


The background characters are:

Name: Ishura Nightweaver
Race: Undead Night Elf
Class: Druid x Rogue
Speciality: Healing, combat and the ability to sneak around well.
Faction: Neutral
Personality: Quiet, strong willed, mournful.
Appearance: It's difficult to decide on Ishura's age as she looks the same as she did when she died, her skin only more pale with the tips of her ears and fingers slightly grey in colour, but she could pass for a human's idea of a woman in their mid twenties.

Background: Ishura was once part of a highly regarded family in Kaldorei society. She loved another, but they weren't able to be together as his family were considered nothing. She was an exceptional healer, and while her eyes were amber and proved that she had the blood of a druid, she couldn't be accepted as one, but trained secretly when possible. The day came when she requested to join the small party of scouts in Northrend upon learning the Human Prince Arthas had been gone there to try find the sword that would be able to save them from the Scourge. She went against their wishes and joined the scouting party on their journey to Northrend. Ishura met the young Prince by accident when she got caught by a group of scourge in the wastelands of Dragonblight and swore to help him to herself, and when she was unable to stop Arthas from taking that bloody path, she felt as though it had been her fault and through guilt, proceeded to follow him. The Alliance had learned of a Night Elf that was of a high rank in Arthas' army and sent a couple of assassins to deal with her. They learnt that day however that she was not one of the Scourge, she was not bound to him and they had spilled the blood of a Kaldorei, they fled as Arthas came and gave her the option of living, or dying. With her final breath she cried to live, her mind fixed on her love.
Ishura became one of the undead, one of the scourge that followed Arthas. Ishura was never a mindless drone, perhaps it was due to her willingness that saved her, she remained near to Arthas helping him as she could. The bond she had with the natural world warped, that with life which she touched would wither and die, the more she tried to return to the natural life she had lived the more her heart broke knowing that she could never return to her love. Eventually, Illidan came to face Arthas, they battled and both injured, fled. Arthas became the Lich King, Ishura saw many of the scourge break from his hold and took the chance to slip out of ranks and follow Illidan to Outlands.
While with Illidan, Ishura tended to his wounds and in return, he taught her physical combat, how to be a demon hunter and fight with two glaives. She received a pair similar to the ones Illidan used, a better quality to those the trainees received and for a time she felt like she had a place to be, even if it meant defending the Temple and helping put Magtheridon into a form of prison and dealing with the haughty Prince Kael'Thas and the naga Lady Vashj. The Serpentshrine Cavern fell as the members of the Horde and Alliance made their way in, the Tempest Keep shortly after. Finally they set their sights on The Black Temple. Illidan urged her to leave, but she remained and watched as the Horde and Alliance stormed in and faced the battles then faced Illidan himself. In the back of her mind, she heard the whisper of Arthas once more, and with that she returned to Azeroth, heading back to Northrend with the goal of reaching Arthas before the Alliance and Horde did.
Goal: To reach and free Arthas, and to be able to return to the one she loves.

Name: Vanilla (Shawe)
Race: Half Night Elf, Half Blood Elf
Class: Rogue
Speciality: Standing toe to toe and coming out on top. She works best with swords as she thinks daggers are stupid and not worth the effort put into trying to stab someone with a butter knife. She's difficult to catch and track but is excellent at being 'undercover' and infiltrating places.
Faction: Neutral
Personality: Nilla is, simply put, psychotic. She hates men, hates humans, and hates elves no matter what type. She's very protective of her twin sister Cinnamon.
Appearance: Vanilla looks like a tall Blood Elf. She is taller than a male Blood Elf but shorter than a female Night Elf, built a little more like a Night Elf than a Blood elf but her ears a slightly pointed up more like a Blood Elf. Her skin is slightly purple but it could pass for a trick of shadows and light. Pure white hair that’s held in a ponytail with the shorter front not being able to reach the tie and as such is flopping over her face but pushed aside. Vanilla has various cuts and scars over her body, some more recent than others but the most prominent one is one across her chest that she received saving her sister from humans.

Goal: It changes most days but will always be trying to keep her sister safe.

Name: Cinnamon (Shawe)
Race: Half Night Elf, Half Blood Elf
Class: Rogue
Speciality: Cinnamon is exceptional in stealth. She is deadly with her twin daggers and is capable of taking the life of someone before they even realise that there was someone behind them.
Faction: Neutral
Personality: Cinnamon is the opposite of her sister. She is a little more trusting than Vanilla and has no problems with humans or elves or any other race. Cinnamon is happy more often than not and is perfectly willing to make friends. She'll follow Vanilla wherever she goes and if it comes down to her twin or the people she's gotten to know, her twin will always be more important.
Appearance: Cinnamon is almost identical to her sister. Her hair is the same white but is longer and left out. Her face is softer than her sisters however making her appear more calm, friendly and level-headed. Her skin is slightly darker than Vanillas making the purple evident enough so that she cannot blend into Blood Elves. Cinnamon is relatively scar free, the only visible one is along her left arm which is usually covered anyway.

Background: Both Cinnamon and Vanilla were abandoned as children, they have no idea about their parents, which side was which, if they're still alive, if they killed them, nothing. When they were children, they found their way into the human town Moonbrook where they were taken in by a human woman, Katina Shawe. To them, she was their mother. They stayed with her for many years until the twins appeared to be 16. When they reached 16, a band of human bandits burst in, raped and murdered Katina then attempted to take Cinnamon. Vanilla, enraged, slew them all with the leaders own weapons.
The twins fled and once again took to life on the move. They fought their way through thick and thin. Vanilla for a short time left her sister in Shattrath to gather information while Vanilla left to do her own business. After Vanilla returned, the twins headed to Northrend in pursuit of an Undead Night Elf Druid, and Vanilla’s desire to participate in any form of slaughter.
Goal: To stay with her sister and keep her safe and sane.

And there may also be small visits by Shekinah, Blood Elf Warlock

Name: Adara Star'Gazer (( Thank you Arty Pants! ))
Race: Blood Elf
Class: Rogue
Specialty: Adara specializes mostly in hand to hand combat, and swift, accurate, dagger play.
Faction: Horde. She has a swift hate of all things alliance, though she's been known before to take contracts from Alliance members, take their gold, and then kill them as well.
Personality: Stand-offish is the best word to describe Adara. She's usually calm and collected, though she has her moments in which she "flies off the handle." She generally doesn't like people, and prefers to keep to herself, especially when working. An incredibly hard ass loner, most would call her. Though to Adara, and the world she lives in, it's simply living, and living smart at that.

Adara is stocky, and generally shorter. She has deep red hair, and a harsh looking face, with rigid lines, and an unforgiving gaze. Most of her body holds old battle scars, and wounds, though for the most part, she keeps those covered. There runs, down her face, a tattoo. She's never talked of the tattoo, or the scar that accompanies it, and tends to become... testy... when it's mentioned.
Background: As far as anyone knows, Adara was born and raised, until the very young elven age of twenty, when she "broke out on her own" and has since lived on the streets. That's all she'll say, and she actually gets violent if asked further.
Goal: Adara's goals barely reach above living until the morning. She wants money. And power. Though she used to dream of one day going back and finding the one family member she remembers, her brother. She also schemes as much as she has the ability, to destroy all dwarves. They are an abomination in her slightly prejudice mind.

Wouldn't it go under Medieval Fantasy? I mean, it does have all of the swords and sorcery type things, far off lands, exotic creatures... Medieval Fantasy seems like a good bet.

Yes but it also uses guns. ANd last I checked they're not Medieval.

It would go in Modern Fantasy, because it can be considered an "alternate" dimension that's "Modern Day"
