Untitled Sci-Fi Project [closed, unless we change our minds]

So far we got plot and are almost done with the characters. Anything else we want to pound out before starting? I think a title would be nice. Any suggestions? Also, do we want to post character sheets or not?

And the title sounds good to me.

The plot so far is the human race and an alien aliance are currently on the brink of war with each other. Their interactions take place pretty far from Earth, and the government is starting use propaganda to help gain support in case fighting does break out. Some point during the beginning of the RP war will break out.

Did I miss anything?

And as a reminder, the human tech aesthetics are very retro-futuristic. The sci-fi of the fifties type stuff.

Race Name: Shi'Ran Kor

Personality: The Shi'Ran Kor seem somewhat antisocial to other races. They tend to rely more heavily on body language and pheromones they can excrete at will to communicate. While they can communicate with members of their own race extremely efficiently, to other races they may seem somewhat withdrawn. They view any sort of challenge as fun, and the more difficult the better. Most of them are highly intelligent, and though they do not flaunt their superior intellect, they do not hesitate to show it. They are excellent tacticians and have a general aptitude for solving complex algorithms (as an example, the human equivalent of a three year old could solve a rubix cube with absolutely no trouble). Most of their movements are slow and deliberate, but they have been known to have an excellent dexterity far beyond human levels.

Appearance: A fully grown Shi'Ran Kor stands at about six and a half feet on average when standing at full height. They resemble humanoid wolves, but saying there is a resemblance is truly as far as physical similarities go. They have narrow eyes that are usually yellow, but can be other light colors such as teal, aquamarine, amber, amethyst, and occasionally pink. They have an extended snout-like structure in the center of their face. Their mouths are lined with a row of pointed teeth, but behind these teeth, is an additional set of flat teeth of a structure that makes them useful for grinding. They also have a tongue that actually branches into two separate sensory organs, allowing them to taste the air around them in a method similar to that of a snake or other reptile. Their versatile tongues also allow them to speak in many different ways to other races, but this is a learned talent.

Their bodies are covered in dark hair that varies little in color from a dazzling starlight blue, to a deep, glistening red. Human eyes, however, almost never see the fur of a Shi'Ran Kor as anything other than black without proper sensory equipment. Shi'Ran Kor also have two sets of spikes running down their backs on either side of their spines, protecting them from external damage The spines protrude from beneath their scaly hide little more than an inch as they run from the base of the neck to the small of the back.

The bottoms of their feet are padded and divided into several jointed sections at the ankle, allowing for control over movement without sacrificing speed. Their hands are similar to those of humans, with the exception that they have an extra phalange in each digit. On the backs of their hands is a collection of nerves and synapses that can, at their own will, move to the surface and connect with most anything that thinks or operates in an electrical manner, as these nerves are connected directly to their brainstems. These nerves can extend out of there hand as far as a foot, though this occurrence is rare, as it is easy for the nerves to become damaged.

Beneath their fur, they have small scales all over their body, save their face. The fur grows from between the gaps in theses scales that serve as natural armor, and extends fur enough that most races that meet the Shi'Ran Kor do not realize the scales are even present until much later on in their relationship. They can live to be nearly six hundred years old, and reach adulthood at around seventy five. The majority of the Shi'Ran Kor are male, as only a single female is born every two to three years on average.

Relations: As tacticians of the Galactic Alliance, the Shi'Ran Kor usually hold a high level of respect in the political world of any space-faring race. They also make for extremely versatile fighters, earning them the respect of the military as well. Despite the respect they have earned as a race, however, Shi'Ran Kor tend to think of themselves as superior to others in many ways. They do, however, recognize the individual skills and abilities of other races, and therefor tend not to show outwardly their feelings of superiority.

Colonies: The Shi'Ran Kor colonies tend to be small, with populations little over 50,000 on a single planet (other than their home world, which houses millions of them). Despite their love of technology, they also seem to have an affinity for nature as well, living in a highly technological society, but with nature of the settlements left mostly undisturbed. Instead of adapting the terrain of new worlds to their own needs, they use their vast intellects to learn how to survive by other means. This does not mean they do not have shelters or technology present. They get by with simply the core necessities in their homes, and leave their technology elsewhere, such as in orbit or in underground bunkers that do not disturb life on the surface.

Language: Other than the common language of the Galaxy, Shi'Ran Kor speak their own language, which is a complex combination using both parts of their tongues, pheromones they excrete, and extremely subtle body language. It takes more than a century for any creature besides the Shi'Ran Kor to even learn to understand the language (on average). Because their language focuses more on other means, when speaking in other languages, it takes them years to even comprehend putting emotion into their tones as they speak. As such, most sound as if they are speaking in monotone. Some have learned to speak as other races, though it takes a lot of effort for them to do so, as they are not used to it.

Names: Shi'Ran Kor have only a single name, which is separated into two different names by an apostrophe. Their names are given to them at birth, and they carry them throughout their lives. Among themselves, their names have more meaning, but when spoken to members of other races, they are simply names.

Character name: Jyorr'Kythys (Jzore kith-iss)

Race: Shi'Ran Kor

Gender: Male

Appearance: Jyorr is one of the rare truly black Shi'Ran Kor. He has yellow eyes and an unnatural grace seems to be about him when he moves. His scales are a pale, gray color and unlike most members of his race, he tends to walk upright, rather than in a slouch.

Personality: Jyorr is a peculiar member of his race. In fact he is somewhat of an outcast, as he is what would be considered mentally impaired compared to most members of his race, having an IQ of only 187. Also different from the norm of his race, he lacks a superiority complex. He is very energetic and highly social, so much so that he took the time to learn how to associate with other races more effectively by his own choice. His body is also slightly different than most members of his race, as his skeletal structure allows him to stand upright without any difficulty.

He is very forward and somewhat happy-go-lucky, referring to the other members of his race as “stuck up assholes who wouldn't stop being stuffy even in a crisis.” He is, however, extremely loyal, though at times who he is loyal to is unclear. He also follows orders well, which was the main reason he was recruited into the military.

Other characteristics: One of the only women of his race in the military, Kyrr'Thssa, is responsible for his rank in the military. She recognized that he had amazing dexterity, and paid out of her own pocket for him to be trained in special ops. Her investment has since paid off in multiple ways. Jyorr is now a coveted military asset, and he is more loyal to her than even members of his own family, as she was the reason he got to where he is in life.

Though his IQ is low compared to the majority of the Shi'Ran Kor, his ability to use his nerve endings is heightened to a degree far beyond most of his race, making him even more of an asset to them.

Other characteristics: Ruby is a bit of a celebrity back on Earth, some of her adventures having been captured by a camera sphere and shown to the public. She's a bit forgetful of her fame, not visiting Earth that often. She's an adventurer, and has visited numerous planets and gotten in and out of plenty of trouble. She's occasionally done jobs for the government, running things and people between worlds, in order to make the money to fund these adventures. She travels in her distinctive ship 'Moon Runner.' She sometimes travels with what the public considers her sidekicks, Kitty Diamond and Shadow Tide, among others.

Other characteristics: Bryce is a scientist in the fields of biology and robotics, as well as dabbling in other subjects. He's often employed by the government to work on newly discovered planets in order to both learn about the native life and find out if colonization is possible. He's very intelligent and when not working, he has a habit of tinkering and creating various devices, which is how Hera was created.

Other characteristics: Created by the scientist Bryce Sheppard in his spare time, Hera accompanies him on his trips to various planets on the payroll of the government. She functions as a companion and also protection. She has a few hidden means of defending herself and others, although she will usually only use them if either Bryce or herself are in serious danger.

Race Name: Soukititians (so-key- tie-tie -ans)

Personality: Soukititians have strong primitive instincts and it's amazing that in such a era, this behavior has kept the race alive and healthy. They are also a tropical based race, so they cannot stand cold climates.
-The males can be overly aggressive and dominant over younger males. When around other older, bigger males; sometimes they can get so worked up that they sweat testosterone as well as back and arm muscles begin to quiver.
Although it's a different story when there is just one male among females.
It's culture in the Soukititian race that females must be protected at all times. This transcends all races.
The male is less likely to become agitated or provoked. Most of the time he'll be social, calm,playful and gentle. Even when there are other males around he will not be disturbed.
It's only when the females start quivering and sweating hormones themselves (aka happy fun season) is when the causalities start to rack up.

-The females are quite social and they flock in groups. They are generally cheery and friendly but that doesn't mean they won't try and manipulate males or pick fights with each other. Although since females must be protected at all times, female to female fights don't occur often as the males will intervene.

Appearance:
-Exclusive to gender
Normal height for an' fully grown adult male is 7ft. They have wide, broad shoulders and most likely toned, powerful arm and back muscles which are the strongest group of muscles he has. He will also have a large, long tail that can actually constrict and snap human bones quickly. It can also be used as an' extra leg.
Adult males also have mandibles inside their mouths. These are the last to fully develop and is considered the last stage of adolescents. (much like turning 21.) A fully adult male is usually 4 years of age and they can live to be around 11-15 before dieing of old age.
Something that is also exclusive to males is the fact that they have three tentacle like appendages that can retract in and out of their backs. These tentacles can be completely incognito until he flexes his back muscles and the tentacles slither out. The male is complete control over each one and they can work independently but that takes years of practice. These tentacles have durable, strong needles at the end of each one but the needle only appears when the tentacle is fully extended. These tentacles can be used in an aggressive display or used to inseminate a female. (by which the male will stab the female through the back of the pelvis.)
Again these tentacles can be used as extra limbs or as an' extra set of reproductive organs.

Adult Females are quite small in contrast to their males. A fully grown female stands at 5 to 6ft. Adult females are 3 years of age and live to be around 17-20 years before dieing of old age. Females can be lithe but they really are not meant to be strong(they are usually much more softer, plush and cushiony) Females have a different kind of muscle that is only for running and flexibility.
Females can always out run and out jump males but they can't out power them.
Females also have bigger hips and thick legs and thighs which makes them more curvy, attractive to males and cute. But also just proves the point further that the females are more fit to run.

Both sexes:
In both males and females, Soukititians have a fur coat but fur on top of the head as well. (looks like it would be hair on humans' heads)
Both males and females have stripped fur. The color of the fur and the stripes can be different and unique to each individual. They are also normally bi-colored. (there is no such thing as a solid color Soukititian)
Females tend to have really bright, or pastel like colors, while Males tend to have very dark or saturated colors.
Both have two antennae protruding from their foreheads but female antennae tend to be longer then males'.
They also have long brown ears that stretch outwards almost horizontally. These brown ears have three tags at the end that almost looks like a star cut in half.

The stripes on the face are like finger prints, each unique and different. (soukititians don't have fingerprints)

Adolescents:

Adolescent males are about the size of a full grown female. Males reach sexual potency with in their first year. (most males are not likely to live past 2 years because of larger, stronger competing males)
Teenage males are less likely to be as aggressive as they are still developing and they will still present some child like behavior such as cuddling, (with both siblings or older males and females) play fighting,asking for food, sharing sleeping spots and singing.
This behavior will start to dwindle during the first year and will disappear when he turns 2. By then, the mandibles will have fully developed and he will be ready to fight and compete for 'girlfriends'.

Females reach sexual activeness when they are 7 months of age, but child bearing and mating don't take place until they are 2 years of age.
Females usually start out very small, during adolescents they are heavily guarded by their father and mother as sometimes other adult males will steal adolescent females and hold them captive until they are old enough to bear children. (this is considered a heavy crime.)
(Although some parents will have males already picked out for them at birth, which is actually a lot safer when the male suitor grows to adolescents.)
Female adolescents won't be as curvy or social as their older selves. Their hips and legs won't start to shape until their first year. The mother and father will teach how to converse and talk with other females as well as talk to males. (and running away from them)

Rarities:
In life, there will always be abnormal births, it happens.
It's been known that sometimes hairless births can occur but since it doesn't look very appealing to both males and females, this is rare and the male or female with this hairless disorder will most likely not breed.
Another rarity is tri- or even quad-colored Soukititians. An' example of a tricolor is this picture here..

here you can see that he has red as his under color and black as his stripe color, but his eyes are green. Normally the whites of his eyes would have been black and his pupils red, due to his coloring.

Again her under color is a green and black as her stripe color, but her hair is red and her eyes are a deep yellow.

There hasn't been any other occurrence of a higher count of colors besides those two.

Another rarity is the pure color white.
White really isn't a color, rather it is a shade. White isn't common because soukititians are actually a tropical species.
White isn't very good for blending into surroundings and it's the most easiest to see in the dark. In fact, white soukititians GLOW in the dark because of how their fur reflects moonlight.
White soukititians can live millenniums, granted they are able to survive. (It takes thousands of years to become an' adult)
White male Soukititans are much more rare then white females. Fortunate or unfortunately, all of the white males that have been recorded in history, have been completely sterile.
Female white soukitins can only give birth once in their entire life and are doomed to die about two years after giving birth.
It's hard to say whether white Soukititians should be a sub-species to Soukititians and it is a subject of debate with in the race, which effects the veiws on whether to struggle and keep the white Soukititians alive, or let them very slowly, die off.

Relations: The Soukititians are a wandering race. They are not members of the galactic alliance, but they are a neutral party. With their home planet had been long destroyed. Most soukititian males and famlies are scattered across the galaxy while single females stick close together. They have a neutral ground planet to flock to for a safe haven and to breed and bring up children.

Language: Soukititians can speak through spoken language or morse code. Males speak morse code through tapping their mandibles together, while the females click their tongues or tap their nails.
They can also learn any language instantly. (only adults can do this)
Both males and females have small needles inside their tongues. They can either pierce another species tongue with this needle. (basically french them and make their tongue bleed for a little bit) Or the males can use their tentacles to go through the nose or pierce the skull. (Both are painful, but the first method is the most popular.)
males and females can also exchange information through the mouth.

However, because of the insta-learn a new language (wtf rosetta stone commercial?)
The soukititian spoken language changes rapidly depending on what region of the galaxy they are from.
However, the morse code method of communication is the most reliable.

Terms:

Soukititian is the general word for the race as a whole. which includes both adults, elderly and children.

Soukititan (so-key-titan) is the word for an adult/elderly male.

Soukitin (so-key-tin. 'almost like kitten') is the word for an' adult/elderly female.

Soukit (so-kit) is an' adolescent

Souki ( so-key) is a child/infant.

Human names: When visiting earth, Soukititians usually have just a first name.

Appearance: Sammy has adorable pink fur as a under color and sunny yellow stripes, hair and eyes. She stands at 5 ft and has pink antenna.

Personality: Sammy is what you would expect. She's kind, cute, fun and loving. She is also timid, but that doesn't not mean she isn't with out courage. (you'd just have to help build it up and .... encourage it.. XD)

Other characteristics: Sammy was born to two happy parents. Mom was very nice and generous while dad was protective but playful to his children.
She has 3 sisters and 4 brothers, including her , she is the 4th girl out of 8 children.
Sammy hasn't been taught to hate or scorn. In a lot of ways she is naive, and her parents didn't expect her to leave the neutral planet where she was born.
So Dad gave her a crash course about strangers and not getting into any .. space ships..
And now she is a little timid, but underneath the fear lies the courage of dad.

Race: Soukititian

Gender: Soukititan (Male)

Appearance: Creadin is a large boy, Being barely 4 years old he stands at 6 1/2 feet tall. He has a bulky muscle core, and he is everything typical about a guy. His under color is a teal green and his stripe color is a dark navy blue. His eyes are of the same navy blue as well as his hair.

Personality: Creadin can be rowdy and a bit of a smart-allelic. He digs the ladies and thinks most human girls look like a bunch of sticks and muchly prefers the round cushiony females of his race. (he's been known to look at a couple of fat human chicks too. Yes he's a bit of a chubby chaser.) Creadin is rather promiscuous and he's proud of it. He's friendly and means well all around, but mess with him during 'one night stand time' and it's over.

Other characteristics: Creadin was raised by his mom. His father died when he was still in his moms 'tummy'. He's brother two 5 other brothers, he had no sisters in his litter.
So curiosity killed the cat big time when the hormones started kicking in.
Been hooked ever since.

Character name: Jack Kra-jin

Race: Human / Torgons

Gender: Male

Appearance: In most of his features, he seems very human. Although, at the same time it is very obvious he is not. His skin is a dark shade of emerald green and his eyes have black slits for pupils. His ears come to a point and extend a few inches higher than human ears. And to top it off, he has a demon like, 4 foot tail. He stands at around 6 foot 4 inches and is very solidly built.

Personality: Jack is a very difficult personality to judge, being that he acts very different depending on his mood. While happy or calm, he is a very intelligent individual with an IQ that goes beyond what is considered high for regular humans. But, when angered, he becomes extremely violent and a irrational thinker, sometimes causing more destruction than necessary. Growing up around humans has made him partial to them in the war they are locked in, even though not all of them considered him one of them.

Other characteristics: The Torgon in him makes him very strong, capable of easily lifting almost a ton. He had the abilities to rise to a high rank in the humans military, but liked staying somewhat low, allowing him to always participate in the battles. He loves a good fight and hopes that when he finally does die, it is at the hands of a warrior that is truly better than himself.

Alright Sol, I'm being super lazy so he's basically what you asked for about the Torgons.

The Torgons are a strong, war-loving race. They are far from barbaric, but firmly believe that only the strong should survive, and let the weak fall by the wayside. They have terrible tempers that can make them very dangerous, but only attack other races if they have good reason. They have a strong capacity for love, though not always the best at showing it. They do not except interracial intercourse, and will ban anyone that performs such an act from their society. It isn't that they believe its wrong, its just that they believe there is another race they could mate with that would make the baby powerful enough to live in the society. They are proud, and can be arrogant, but keep their heads very well until angered.

Appearance, they are humanoid in shape. An average Torgon is around 7 foot tall, females being only a little shorter. They are muscular, both sexes, and dangerous, both sexes. Their skin looks like humans, but is tough like leather, giving stabbing weapons a run for their money. They range in color from dark gray, to red, to blue, to green. Their tails aren't much for a weapon, but are capable of being used like another hand, picking things up and such.

Their society is very independent, only depending on each other. During times of war, all capable males leave for war, and some of the females as well. The rest of the females stay behind to raise those that are to young to fight, and keep the society running smoothly. All of their weapons are self made, but usually the designs are borrowed. While they rarely have the newest technology, they are often only half a step behind, and never a full step.

Character name: Chourik Sorrna

Race: Soukititian

Gender: Soukititan (Male)

Appearance: Chourik is a rarity in his race in several ways. The first of which is colors. His fur is a brilliant starlight blue and his stripes are a radiant crimson that appear to be jagged designs reminiscent of tears in fabric. His pine green hair is long and extends down to the center of his chest and his eyes are a stunning amber. He also has a scar on his face that begins at his right temple and extends down to just below his eye. The fur over his scar is lighter than the surrounding area. His tail is slightly longer than others of his race as well, and it either drags along the ground or he wraps it around his waist. Rarely does he ever use it for balance, as it is nearly a foot longer than other Soukititians' tails and throws him off balance. He is muscular and his body is very lean looking. Some have even speculated that he could out run a female, though this is simply hearsay and speculation, as he has never attempted to. He carries himself with confidence, but has a tendency to not look people in the eyes. In fact he rarely even brushes his hair out of his eyes and it acts as a barrier to eye contact at times.

Personality: Chourik is not the typical Soukititan. He knows how to fight and has seen his fair share of combat, but he rarely instigates conflict. Some would say otherwise, however, as his personality can appear insulting to some. In reality, Chourik is very introverted. He will usually only speak when spoken to and can seem somewhat evasive at times. He also makes people feel threatened simply by being in his presence. This is not because he does so on purpose, but almost like an aura that surrounds him.

He has earned fear and respect on the battlefield among all who know him. He has stated several times in the past that he doesn't like to fight, but when actually in combat it is almost as if he becomes a different person. He is ruthless and savage when fighting, and has been known to kill his opponents mercilessly and with seemingly no emotion in his expression as he does so. Many of his own kind fear him for this.

Other characteristics: Chourik's parents were actually brother and sister. He grew up in a colony that was dwindling rapidly and his parents resorted to increasing the population through incest, though he was told they used the needles rather than intercourse. He blames the length of his tail and his coloring on his lineage, but does not resent his parents for his differences. He moved out of his parent's home when he was a year and a half old, taking his sister (who was from the same birthing) Lizira with him. When they were three another male wanted to mate with Lizira, and Chourik didn't want her impregnated by anyone, as she had been sickly and weak practically her whole life. He lost the fight over her, gaining his scar as he was knocked unconscious. When he came to it was already to late for him to do anything. He was aloud by the older Soukititan to stay around, and helped his sister through her pregnancy, but during the birth, she lost consciousness and never regained it. All her children were stillborn as well. He is now five and wondering the galaxy, acting as a mercenary to make a living. He usually avoids females and tries not to start fights over them due to what happened to his sister.

and the contradictions prick would be the things like when you said there intelligence is equal to other species (first off, all the species have different intelligence levels so fail) and then you said their intelligence is only mediocre...which wouldn't make it the same huh?

then you said something about their skin being good for tropical conditions, but they are skin burned easily because their skin is bad in the sun...tropical tends to mean lots of sun, way to go.

Well this profile was a quick re-wright of another species called the Jarrok whom are from a cold, mountainous planet but which share many cultural similarities.

And I said their biology is suited well to coping with heat and humidity but they can still fucking sunburn easily... I never said their skin was resilient in strong ultraviolet light. Considering they've evolved to life under a thick fucking jungle canopy.

I also said their mental abilities are mediocre... Mental abilities are not always the same as intellect. Mental abilities such as will power for example...

As well I said their intellect is equal to that of the majority of "most" or "many" races. I never said that there isn't a difference in intellect among quite a few species, but clearly these are the exception.
