| The Basic story-
The world has always been strange but we still call it our home. But in these modern times we forgot the meaning of life and what we as humans are capable of. However there is a story that must be presented to the modern folk because it did not happen too long ago. It shows what a few seemingly young people were capable of even when other humans had forgotten magic. This tale takes place in the mid 1970's Osaka, Japan. (not all the cultists were Japanese.) These five young people were taught within a cult. They practiced elemental magic. Each one of these young cult members mastered in one elemental power. The elements they mastered were wind, fire, earth, water and spirit (healing and resurrection). These young folk consist of two girls who control wind and earth, and three young men who wield water, fire and spirit. The reason they and the cult existed was to keep a great power contained. But in the end it broke free somehow...
The Beginning-
February 3, 1972 Osaka, Japan
The days past and the nights never changed. Life was life as Kohana's country was getting back on its feet. Her life was in Osaka. In the cult her mother helped create as a young woman with other religious people. As usual she lounged on the beaten up couch in the basement of the Cult's location. She was dressed in her uniform, a book in her hand, but it was not a school book. She was reading a book on Buddhism. It was the complete history of the religion filled with 1025 pages worth of it. There was so much detail the fact she could read small print impressed many people, but not her partners in the Osaka Cult because they were all unique. She was one of five individuals who controlled a certain element.
If someone was to see her, they would not see anything special. Just a thin Japanese girl who had a high score in English and Japanese literature. Inside the Cult she was special. However she did not think about the cult if she could help it. She immersed herself in books filled with history and ancient knowledge. Everything around her was gone and it helped her relaxed.
Just a few feet away a fellow member, Frieda peered into the room. She had not fully entered making her presence known. She watched the young girl. She was often curious about the spontaneous and usually cheerful child. Frieda controlled earth, but the girl impressed her everyday. She was the youngest and yet had the best control. She took a step back upstairs feeling it was not right to interrupt the girl. They had few breaks and a person that young needed the most freedom. A hand along the stone wall she went back upstairs to bump into Naoko a another fellow member. His face was grim as usual.
“Hey Naoko,” she managed to say with a smile.
He stared at her for a moment and muttered,”Someone down there?”
She glanced behind her and thought about Kohana. “Yeah, Kohana...”
Naoko nodded. “Oh...” He said nothing else, but walked past her down the stairs. He disappeared around the corner.
Frieda sighed. She felt those two were distant, but Kohana was much more approachable and outwardly friendly, despite how intense she could get when she was reading. She shook her head and finally made it into the main part of the building. She took a seat on a wooden chair and waited for the other two to join her.

| First to enter of the two was David. A confident man, this confidence flowed through him, he was easily approachable and assured in his speech. He had control of the element of fire, and as such, this partly came across in his personality. His eyes glowed with a lively flame, and he possessed a typically British charm and wit, that matched his north-western English accent. David was a very likable person, and as such got on with practically everyone in the Cult, despite not being particularly co-operative during academic studies.
Always with a noisy entrance, David burst into the main building, and walked quickly and assertively towards Frieda.
"Frieda! You're early!" He bellowed across the room.
He looked towards her and smiled with the same cheeky grin he'd had since he was a child.
"Is Claud here yet?"
No sooner had David asked that, did he spot Claudio entering from a side door. Claudio was the polar opposite of David, personality-wise, opting to remain quiet and reserved, until it was necessary that he spoke. He was in control of the power of water, but was often reluctant to use these abilities, due to the traumatic time he'd had at school when he first discovered he had an elemental power. Claudio was hard to miss, mainly due to his massive mane of curly hair. In a rare moment of outspokenness, he refused to have his hair cut by the clergy, and opted to keep his hair long, curly and straggly. Silently he made his way over to David and Frieda, and sat on a seat opposite the latter, not saying a word. He took a piece of paper from his jacket pocket, and begun to read it quietly.

| Frieda looked up as the familiar called to her. She looked over her shoulder and waved to David, smiling some. “Hey Pryo,” she replied grinning brightly. “What brought you here so early this fine day?” She stretched out her arms, looking back. She sat up again and pulled off her jacket, revealing her many colorful tattoos. Her eyes followed David, who she thought had an attractive personality. Before she said anything else she became distracted when Claud came in. Her gaze lightened up some as the quiet man came in.
“Hey you!” She said in a loud tone, waving to Claud lazily. “Haven't seen you around much Claud. How have you been hun?”
The next person to join them was none other than Kohana with Naoko trailing behind her in his grim appearance. She hugged her book close as she approached Frieda and the others. “Afutanu-n,” she said, bowing with hands folded before her. “Good afternoon, Frieda-san, Pryo, Claud.”
Naoko walked past her and just sat down, relaxing. Her eyes narrowed for a slight second. Catching Frieda's eyes she reverted to smiling and an easy gaze.
“It seems we are all early,” Kohana commented.
Frieda smiled. “Yeah. Come, come Kohana. Sit with us.” Kohana managed a polite smile and pulled out a chair next to David, settling down calmly.
“Not like they expect us to be coming late,” said Naoko.
Frieda frowned, but let it slide. “Wonder what they wanted to discuss.”

| "I heard that we were gathering for a meeting.." David repiled, also now looking over at Claudio.
"Claud! What have you got there?" David motioned his hand towards the letter Claudio had taken from his pocket.
"Just a letter" came the reply. "From family".
David nodded, and went to sit down near Frieda, acknowledging Kohana and Naoko as he did.
It was a rare occasion to get the five of them in a room, let alone to get them there early. David wasn't the best at timekeeping, he never has been, ever since the first time he played truant at school.
Claudio brushed his hair from his eyes, and seemed to be reading intently from the letter. It seemed as though he was getting angrier. It was always hard to tell though because he always kept his emotions under wraps. He then conjured up a ball of water in mid air, and put the letter inside it. He then motioned with his hand, and the ball of water hovered out of the window, and towards a small lake that was inside the academy grounds. The ball of water then dropped into the lake, and the letter sunk without a trace.
The others watched in apparent confusion.

| Frieda was not sure how to react to the action Claudio had taken. Concern crossed her face and worry weld up in her eyes. She looked at him carefully searching for any hint of distress. She sighed. "How's everything for you, Claudio?" she asked softly. "Everything all right?"
Frieda wanted to say more, but Kohana stepped in, saying," I hoped that whatever it is they want to tell us is as important as they made it seem earlier. I have exams to study for."
Her arms crossed over her chest.
"The last thing you need to worry is your exams, Hana," stated Naoko. "We have more pressing matters..." His eyes went over every individual in the room. "I believe I know what this random meeting is about."
Frieda became interest. "And what would it be about?"
"It is not my place to say."
"Because you don't know anymore than we do," retorted Kohana with a sly smile. Naoko replied with a grumble.
Frieda frowned and turned to Claudio and David. "I hope this is important..." she sighed again. "I just hope it's not urgent."

| "I don't want to talk about it" Claudio replied to Frieda. Putting his hands in his pockets, he looked towards David, the look in his eyes suggesting that he didn't want to keep what was on his mind to himself, but he could only tell David, as he was closest to him in the academy. David looked back, seemingly understanding the look he'd been given, nodding slightly.
"So what's taking them so long?" David asked, looking around to everyone. Claudio shrugged his shoulders. "Why the suspense? They should know better than to keep us waiting." he muttered, still looking at David. Claudio and David had started at the academy on the same day, and had stuck together since then. They knew each other very well, and often trained their skills together. Claudio felt he could share more with David than any other of the five, despite them all having known each other for a long time.
David looked to the others, and then looked at his watch. "They've been an awfully long time now. I'm getting bored.."
A noise came from the edge of the room, and a door began to open.

| Though Frieda was taken a back by Claudio's slightly rude reply, she knew about his close friendship with David. She just sometimes wished the other team members were willing to share somethings with her because after all she was their assigned leader. Besides, Kohana being the daughter of one of the founding members, she was also one of the members who was here longest amongst many of them. She shrugged and looked up eagerly as the door began to open.
Naoko made a snarky comment. “Finally...the 'masters' arrive to inform their loyal servants.”
Frieda sighed and stood as the leader and bowed, hands folded in front of her as four people entered. Two of the people were dressed in Buddhist robes, one being the youngest a woman (who was most likely Kohana's mother.). The priest and priestess returned the bow and approached the table followed by a thin, young man. The man was Indian with short trimmed black hair. He was dressed in a suit. The very last man was slightly heavy with a receding hairline. His skin was peachy and beginning to wrinkle around his eyes. This short man was Father Thomas. The priestess stepped forward and smiled to them all.
“Hello everyone...” she said in English with a soft accent. “I apologize of our late arrival. News has just arrived...”
Before she could say more, Kohana stood up and hugged her mother, taking her hand in her's. Her daughter gave an apologetic nod and whispered, “Sorry okaasan...I just have not seen you in a while.” Her mother smiled and patted her on the shoulder. They exchanged a few quick words and then Kohana sat back down near Frieda.
“So what's the meeting about?” Snapped Noako. He frowned, his patience wearing thin.
“Watch yourself,” growled Frieda losing her cool for a moment. She sighed.
Father Thomas stood beside Kohana's mother and cleared his throat. “Back to business."

| Looking up at Father Thomas, Claudio seemed as though he was more at peace when he was in the room. "Father, are we going somewhere?" he asked, loosely motioning his arm towards the door. Father Thomas said nothing, instead motioning politely to stop his student from talking further. Claudio did just that, shutting his mouth and clasping his hands together, almost as if it was programmed into him. He looked over to David, who had stood up and wandered slowly towards the window.
He also didn't say anything, as both were students under Father Thomas, and both were seemingly under his control whenever he wanted them to be.
Bowing his head, Claudio closed his eyes for a second, almost as if he was trying to find peace behind his eyelids. It wasn't there, so he immediately opened his eyes again shooting a glance over towards the other clergy, awaiting their instruction.
David was looking out of the window, his mind beginning to wander also. His mind not as troubled as Claudio's, but that didn't mean it was free of worry. He was always the first one to worry about the safety of the others whenever they did a mission, and this was no different this time around. He knew how to use his own element, even knowing how to co-operate with Claudio's to make elemental combinations, but it was the others he was unsure about, having not spent as long in training with them. He still trusted them all though, and had a lot of time and faith for Frieda, as their leader.

| Kohana’s mother stepped next to Father Thomas and bowed her head to David and Claudio. This was time to take a moment of peace and pray. It was done soon enough. Her eyes went towards the Indian man, who walked up to them and cleared his throat ready to get to business. Frieda as the leader watched the man carefully and nodded knowing he would be the speaker.
“Hello everyone…” he said in a thick accent. He brushed a hand through his hair. “I am Brother Mark from India. I have received news of great importance.”
He glanced at all the elemental people and Frieda cleared her throat. “Please continue sir."
“Right,” he replied, pulling on his corner. For some reason magic users of any kind caused him to be on edge and his nerves tended to get out of control. “…There have been reports that sacred places in South America, Israel, India and Kento have been violated.”
“And how is this of great importance?” snapped Naoko, sitting back.
“Silence Naoko!” Hissed the priest from the back ground.
“…Well….you see…because each location has connection to the sealed element.” Frieda sat up instantly, her eyes wide with fright. “You don’t mean…darkness?! Who would seek such evil?”
Finally father Thomas stepped in. “There is a group called “I Ribelli”. They seek to unseal darkness because they want to control it. But we must stop them because we all know no one can control it because it takes over the host soon after they take it into their body. Still we do not know if elemental user who already holds an elemental can control it. So myself and the high priestess feel only some of you should go because this is not a safe mission.”
Kohana’s mother nodded. “You must stop them before they put the key parts together and unlock the darkness which is sealed in Kento.”
Father Thomas continued. “So we want Frieda and David to go after them. Then the rest of you to guard the location of darkness. Frieda and David, you two will track down the group, got that? You leave as soon as possible.”
With that said, Father Thomas and the nervous man leave. The priestess looks at everyone and bows. “I wish you all a safe journey….” Soon she and the priest left the room, leaving only the element users in awkward silence. Kohana stood up her face hard as stone and ran out of the room towards the garden, a foreign noise escaping her lips. Frieda sits back, her head up as she stared at the ceiling. Naoko grumbled something and acted as if he could care less what was decided.
