| OOCJeremy moved through the streets slowly. It always made him uncomfortable to have his ears tucked into a cap like this... It wasn't the confined space, he wore his caps several sizes too large to make room, it was that he couldn't turn them to listen behind him. It wouldn't matter soon, he would be able to change back into his comfortable suit and be done with hiding his form in just a moment. He went into the alley and placed his hand on the lid of a trashcan. "From the Myst that made us, bring us freedom." He proceeded to walk through the brick wall next to it, and found himself in the Alpha Site... The ramshackle collection of tents and huts, mobile homes and sleeping bags all seemed new and strange to him once more, as the entrance to the camp shifted positions almost every day. Almost never did the Alpha Site seem to place the same two buildings next to each other, as it had a habit of conserving space by keeping unoccupied buildings in storage until the owners returned. He spotted his row just off to his left, he memorized the first twelve lots on his row to be sure that he would always know which of the narrow, winding paths lead to his home. He would run in and change, then head off to the town square to get his share of the barbecue while it was fresh. | |

| The door of the trailer swung open. It was not a magnificent trailer, merely a run down single-wide with several places where the paneling was peeling off and most of the flashing was gone. There was a single window that was boarded up due to a break in the glass that was never fixed, and several other of the windows had large cracks running through them. By all means it was not a perfect home, but it was nice in the eyes of those who lived in it.
Suddenly, a gray blur burst through the doorway from the inside of the trailer and moved through Alpha site at a great speed, weaving past trailers, people, and even the occasional light post. Sometimes, upon passing a person too closely, the person would turn and, seeing only the color gray, would raise their fist into the air and shake their fist, yelling “Watch it!” or something to that degree.
Orik heard the yelling, but simply ignored it. He'd done this multiple times before. More than he cared to count in truth. It was his own personal way to keep up his reflexes and make sure his body stayed in shape. He had no true destination, but simply ran. He hopped over puddles in the ground, passed the main gate that seemed to lead to nowhere, and even ran through a few makeshift gardens.
Eventually, he emerged in the dining area. He smirked as he entered the area. It was filled with tables, grills, and people. Orik charged forward with zeal and leapt onto a nearby table, moving past the people and their food, making sure his footwork didn't stayed away. Reaching the end of the table, he fell to the ground and this time ran under one of the less crowded tables, weaving through the legs of mystlings and the supports of the table as he charged forward. Several people jumped at the brisk touch of his fur. Bursting out from beneath the table, he changed direction, kicking up a small amount of dust in the process.
Now heading toward where the cooking took place, he charged straight towards a grill that was being used by a man to cook some sort of burger. With a wolfy grin, Orik increased his pace even more, his muscles burning and aching at the sheer amount of effort it took to maintain his speed. Reaching forward, he placed his hands on the hot grill and launched his legs forward. His hands left the hot metal too fast to be burned as his foot planted on the shoulder of the man at the grill. Inertia moved Orik forward and jumped off the shoulder of the man, flipping into the air as the wind rushed through his fur. Taking a deep breath in the brief moment he was in the air, he simply took the time to enjoy where he was.
Landing in a small plume of rising dust, several yells of anger and frustration as he once again ran off into the distance. After a few meters of running once again, his long tongue flew out of his mouth and flapped in the wind as he continued to run.

| Benjamin, in his fancy black suit, laid in a bed. This bed, was not something he was used to. The sheets were tattered, dirty, cold. On the side of the bed, his brief case of money was placed there for the night. Was that stupid, or smart? perhaps it depends on what kind of man your asking. Benjamin had just laid there in his bed, outside the covers. The ceiling had a nice tint of white with a dark blue hue from the night's sky. Benjamin soon got what he was waiting for, someone came in. It was some man, he looked like a crazed bum. His scraggly old white to gray hair and beard, the way he kept his hands together close to his chest. Almost like a rat. He was planning to steal the money. But the money was just bait. Once the man had taken the case and hastily exited the door, Ben had teleported in front of him, Appearing just beyond the next corner. Ben stood, he smiled sweetly, rendered his eyes soft. "I believe that's mine.." His voice was deep like the confines of the large vault he had once used for his money, deceitful enough to sneak past your mental barriers and make you want to believe that you can trust him. "How about I give you some of my share, Mr..?" Ben turned his head a bit wanting to hear the bum speak. "..Mr.. Mr. shullings.." Mr. Shullings eyes were glazed over like a moth staring into a light. Ben smiled, He held a hand out to Mr. Shullings. "Do you really want to take my money..?" Mr. Shullings looked guilty, he gave Ben back his case. "Don't worry Mr. Shullings.. I am very reasonable.." Ben put an' arm around Mr.Shullings even though it made the skin on his back crawl. --
Benjamin led Mr. Shullings out of the building and eventually they made their way to a cemetery. "Why are we coming here?" Mr. Shullings asked, his next question was going to be how much he was getting. "Mr. Shullings, I just want to make sure that no one knows about what I am going to give you..This is just between you and me.." "okay.." Shullings nodded. Ben had lead Shullings to a specific head stone. This head stone looked rather new, fresh. "Mr. Shullings.." Ben said, as he turned around his heels at a large, deep casket shaped hole in the ground. "Mr. Shullings I want you to kill me.." Shullings fidgeted. "What..? Kill you?!" "If you kill me, you get my money. That was your original intent wasn't it..?" A long pause stirred up fear, hesitation, tension. Shullings found a shovel, taking it in hands tightly, he looked to Ben with a broken face. Thick droplets of sweat washed his forehead, his hands, his back. Shullings was very nervous as he walked towards Ben. It was almost as if Shullings knew, something was imminent. A Man will die for money. Mr. Shullings swung his shovel, but his swing was full of regret. When Mr. Shullings turned his head from his swing to find Ben was gone, he closed his eyes he didn't mean it. Mr. Shullings felt terrible. But it was then that the shovel was no longer in his hands, when he noticed this, he turned to look around. His eyes met that of Benjamins, sitting behind him. As the tip of the spade slid across Mr. Shullings neck, a clean line of blood followed immediately. As Shullings moved his head back, it was revealed more that the line of blood, was a gash, ripping his neck even more, the blood flowed from his cut, and painted his chest. The blood flow. The warm blood flow had ran like the surge of adrenaline and rush that Ben had felt. Ben only smiled as his heart was drumming violently and Mr. Shullings fell to the ground, clutching his neck as he gaped for air like a fish out of water.
".. I've killed a lot of people.." Ben whispered to himself, as Mr. Shullings silently suffocated and drowned himself in his own blood. The cold crisp night made Benjamin want to lean in close so he could feel the bloods warmth.
With the spade, Benjamin scooped the body into the casket's hole. Benjamin put enough earth on the top of the body so it wouldn't be seen as the casket that would be lowered inside the following morning would fall right on top of it. No one will ever see Mr. Shullings again. Ben stood at the funeral, he was the man no one ever knew of. Silently he watched as the casket was lowered, having a hidden smiled in his straight face. In a trance, he talked to himself. "I've killed a lot of people."

| Sam leant against the wall, looking across the lane into the stores that littered the walkway. The humans that walked along chatting amongst themselves made her skin crawl. A few heads turned to glance at the odd looking girl, her blue hair pulled up in messy pigtails, her pale skin shimmered lightly when flickers of sun caught her skin as she shifted further into the shadows. Folding her arms across her chest she caught the scent of blood, someone had fallen and scraped their knee nearby, her head snapped to the side and she saw a young woman surrounded by friends, each of them babbling about how her stockings were ruined or that her skirt would never be the same. With a sly grin, Sam turned walking back into the street, ducking out of sight and altering herself quickly.
A quick adjustment of the dark shirt Sam walked out, short brown hair curling slightly across the forehead, strong jawline, overall... A very attractive specimen of the male species. Walking nonchalantly along the path, Sam looked to the woman who had apparently done more than simply graze her knee, there was glass lodged within it. "Are you alright Ma'am?" He approached, concern across his face. The women around the fallen one all gushed and slid aside slightly to allow him access to their fallen friend. "That looks like it could get infected, would you girls mind if I helped her to the hospital?"
"Oh not at all." One of the women waved it away, they would likely request his number at the hospital when they could get him alone from the others.
Simply nodding, Sam leant down and picked up the fallen woman between two strong arms, her own simply draped around his neck. Trying to hide the grin that was now forming across his lips he smiled, nodded, then walked in the direction of the hospital, naturally with no actual intent of going there. This woman's blood smelt divine. As they were out of sight down one of the streets, Sam threw his head back, dropping the woman heavily to the ground and changing back.
"Fucking hate that."
The woman's eyes widened as she saw Sam, now female again, standing before her where the man who had helped her had been only moments prior. "What's going on? What are you?"
"Hungry." Sam, grabbed the womans hair, yanking her up and gripping her chin with her other free hand, turning to allow access to the pale neck where she could see the blood pulsing beneath the skin. A wide, feral grin grew as Sam's mouth attached to the neck, blood shot into her mouth and the woman stopped thrashing and trying to scream, to simply lay there, a gentle moan from her lips, enjoying it. It was a shame, Sam did so enjoy it when they screamed and tried to escape, it was generally the weak ones that gave in to the intense pleasure of it so quickly.
With an annoyed grunt, Sam, removed her mouth and let the woman drop, still wallowing in whatever ecstasy had taken hold of her. Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, Sam shrugged at the woman on the ground, someone would find her eventually, and walked off to get out of the sun. It was beginning to irritate her, her eyes were too sensitive to it, even if it weren't full sun, but then that was the way most of them were. She wondered briefly if she had put a touch of poison into the woman's bloodstream, not out of concern, but simply because she hadn't done it on purpose. Some day she'd have control over it for good and whatever deity they prayed to help them, she would have them.

| Valeria Ford was rather pleased with herself. Both for finding a way into the filthy rathole the freaks called home and for her 'convincing' of that spell-slinger to help her get in. He even threw in a free appearance change to help her blend in, as distasteful as it felt. Ah, it was only a slight change: her fingertips and hair tips were blue. That was it.
She meandered through the pathetic settlement, trying hard to keep the sneer from her face. It was hard, particularly when one of the aberrations tried to talk to her. She brushed them off easily enough, even managed to fake politeness. But it was not easy.
She followed the direction the majority of the mysties were heading, curious as to what could be so important. Maybe some talk of rebellion? That would certainly give Val a reason to tell her superiors of her unauthorized mission here.
But no, it was merely a barbecue. It wouldn't surprise Val if the meat was from rats or something they scavenged. Hell, it wouldn't surprise her if they were eating some of there fellow monstrosities. They weren't exactly civilized like normal people after all.
A gathering is a gathering, and Val milled about, hoping to overhear something promising.

| Still lightly panting, Orik walked back into the trailer quietly, shutting the door behind him. The trailer wasn't extravagant, but it was well kept. There was a simple table and a small kitchen area that was connected to the living area, which contained a worn and tattered, but nonetheless clean, loveseat. In the back of the trailer there were two bedrooms. One contained a mattress and boxspring, while the other had a simple pile of straw that had spread across the room to cover almost the entire floor. In the space between the two small bedrooms, there was a single bathroom.
Walking to the loveseat, Orik flopped down on the piece of furniture with a light sigh of content. By his posture, he was waiting for something, and sure enough it came. In the kitchen, from which the tantalizing smell of cooking beef wafted around the small home, a small, loving yet slightly chastising voice called out. “Orik, what have I told you about about running through the gardens. You may not like them, but some of us need vegetables to stay healthy.”
Orik responded by drooping his ears and sitting up on the couch with a soft, barely audible whine as he turned toward Sherry; the woman who had taken him in as an infant and raised him. She was a petite woman in her late fourties now. Her hair was naturally a blue-green color and cropped just below her ears. Her features were soft and she wore a calming smile that filled Orik with happiness simply at gazing upon her. Her skin would be seen to humans as a fair complexion with a few freckles on her cheeks and chest, but otherwise smooth and with a slightly pale tone. In reality, her “skin” was merely a protective layer of film that rested upon her real skin, which was a brilliant aqua and seemed to have a slightly wet texture. She wore a simple blue top and a pair of tattered sweats underneath a stained white apron as she carried two plates with her to the table.
Smiling affectionately at Orik, she nodded to one of the two chairs at the table as she sat down in the other, placing each of the plates down in their specified places. Standing up off the loveseat, he moved over to the seat she'd indicated and sat down in front of a plate of partially cooked meat, knowing he had a rare prepared rump roast. Mouth watering, he nearly dug in without picking up his silverware, which Sherry had apparently already put down before he'd walked in. He looked up as he picked up his fork and knife, the small pieces of metal looking slightly awkward in his wolf-like hands.
Looking up from his meal at Sherry's plate before he dug in, he saw her usual meal of sushi and several vegetables of varying kinds. In the process of examining her plate, he realized that she was staring at him as if waiting patiently for his attention. He gave it to her and she smiled. “So how was your run today?”
He smiled and leaned back in his chair and simply remembered what it felt like. Suddenly the room held a light breeze that moved gently through his fur as he smiled and simply enjoyed the feeling.
“Orik... you're doing it again.” Sherry stated this with a slight giggle.
He blinked and sat forward once again as the breezed died. He gave another soft whine, to which her only response was to smile brightly. She raised her hand and flicked her fingers at him as water materialized out of the air, manifest through the moisture in it, and slightly sprinkled him in the face. He smiled at her and nodded before digging in.

| As he walked through the muddy streets in his suit, his pant legs rolled up and his tail curled lightly around his waist, Jeremy nearly ran into one of the less typical members of his new home. Orik, a local spectator sport in and of himself, had just returned from his morning's harassment of the food tent. He smiled, the eternally happy Orik kept moral up for everyone, regardless of the trouble he caused. Jeremy's stomach rumbled as he walked through the crowds to find the shortest line for food. "Pardon me, ma'am, but are you in line?" The girl with the blue hair looked out of place and wary, probably new to the crowds of the Alpha Site. | |

| One of them initiated contact, and Val, distracted, started to speak truthfully. "In line?" she snorted. "For this-" she caught herself just in time and plastered on a fake friendly smile. "I mean, no I'm not in line. I'm..." she searched for an excuse for her not eating. "A vegetarian." Yes, that would be good. | |

| He raised his eyebrow at her immediately rude voice, but her reversion to stammering showed her for what she really was. Clearly she was nervous, probably her first day here, and trying to make a name for herself as being tougher than she was back wherever home was for her before. "Excuse me, I hadn't meant to trouble you." He walked around her, and got in line for the barbecue. | |

| Good he bought it, the disguised human thought. Maybe this isn't the best place to observe things if this is where the lines were. Others would make the mistake of assuming she was in line and try talking to her. Val walked off quickly to another position, not noticing the small electronic bug that fell to the ground when she did so.

| Jeremy's ears swiveled, a biological radar detector pinpointing the sound of something dropping through the din of the crowd. His ears were made by nature to detect the beating of a mouse's heart, and this was not much louder. He crouched to pick up the device, careful not to get his pants dirty. "Excuse me, miss? I think you dropped something." He studied the device, a small bit of plastic about the size of the end of his thumb. "Is this that new wireless speaker?" He asked, waiting on the woman to return for her property. | |

| Val's eyes widened in panic as she saw what it was he was holding. Oh crap. Her brain in panic mode, it took her a bit to realize he had given her an out. "Yes! That's exactly what it is!" she exclaimed, jogging back over and quickly snatching the device back. She was careful no to actually touch the freak that was holding. Again, it took her a bit to figure she should probably thank the cat-thing. "....Thanks. I wouldn't want someone taking it," she said, fake smile back in place, if a bit smaller. | |

| "Sure thing." He smiled, now somewhat less confident in her sanity, the clear messages on her face continuing to trade off as her heartbeat rose in tempo. "Are you new around here? I could show you around..." He liked puzzles, and this one seemed like it would have a lot of pieces. | |

| The desire for more intel battled with wanting to avoid spending time with one of the mysties. It was a tough match, but in the end intel won out. "Yes, that would be nice," Val lied through clenched teeth. "I haven't figured my way around here yet." | |

| With a giant stretch and a loud yawn that came out as a deep, low rumble; heard for a 1/4 mile, Ryan finally awoke from his deep slumber. He sat up and scratched his head, blinking his eyes sleepily and smacking his lips in satisfaction. "Good sleep." he nodded happily as another yawn overcame him. He looked around at the area he had slept in, Ryan tended to just sleep wherever he dropped and moved around each night because he was far too big to fit into a tent or trailer. It could almost be considered a game to find him each morning except that his thunderous snores took any challenge out of it.
This time he had apparently fallen asleep in a small empty space behind Orik Griswold's trailer. Ryan didn't remember doing that but it wasn't surprising, he only shrugged and lurched to his feet. He absently scratched behind one ear as he considered his agenda for the day...there was something...what was it? Just then his nostrils twitched and he caught the scent of cooking ahh yes, it's barbeque today, i'd forgotten, delicious. "Mmm food" With that he lumbered of toward the gathering, scratching his massive chest.
Oblivious to the fact that his heavy footfalls which practically caused tremors, always announced his approach long before he arrived, Ryan was again quite happily surprised when he was greeted by a dozen people just as soon as he came within earshot. He smiled and waved in response, though smile was a relative term considering the amount of sharp teeth he had.
As he casually stomped toward the line for food he greeted a few people he especially liked on the way, one of them being Jeremy Dilliard. "Jeremy!" he boomed in his thunderous voice, smiling happily and showing his teeth. He reached forward with one massive finger as if to scratch the Neko-mans ears when he suddenly noticed the girl with him..blue hair, blue fingernails..he didn't recognise her. "Oh..Hello." Ryan suddenly became shy and stood feeling awkward for a moment. New people made him nervous because everything about him screamed Huge and they always seemed afraid of him, saying things like 'monster' and 'freak'. "um, welcome." With that he waved shyly to jeremy and shuffled off toward the line for barbeque, beating a hasty retreat.

| Shuanna had been here for only a short while, setting up a shop near the barbecue stall. Actually it was just a rundown shop she happened to climb into last night and set up as a home. She figured it was abandoned. Sitting behind a wooden counter with a tin roof over her head and three large slabs of concrete for the walls on each side and to the back of her, she had these pretty gray jagged rocks placed before her. She up early in the morning and had found a handful of these inside other big rocks. Show's what Shuanna does in her spare time. Although watching the people lining up for food, she wondered about an economy in Alpha site. If there was a currency that is.. Maybe these rocks will help set up a new form for currency here. She hoped at least.. Shuanna fiddled with the rocks, feeling a little stupid about this.. But then the little rocks jumped, and hopped off her wooden desk. Bewildered and frightened she recoiled and fell back on her butt, scooting away to suddenly realize the whole ground was moving. Daring to peer her head out beyond her desk, she saw the huge man waving and talking with the people. Shuanna gulped, thinking she wouldn't want to get stepped on and sunk back into her little stall. | |

| Jeremy started to respond, but was interrupted by another of the more noticeable locals. "Hey, big brother! What's up?" Ryan was by no means related to him, but he had few enough people to call family and he had helped Jeremy out when he had first gotten here. You could see the whole world from those shoulders... But Ryan was already lumbering away, probably shy of the new girl. "By the way, I don't think I've introduced myself. My name is Jeremy Dillard." | |

| Val was very glad when that giant freak wasn't sticking around. She didn't know if she could restrain herself if too many of them gathered around.
"Valeria-" she again caught herself from saying something she shouldn't, this time her full name. Instead, she went with the first last name that popped in her head. "Turner. Nice to meet you."

| "Nice to meet you as well, Mrs. Turner." He immediately thought of Brock Turner, one of the most respected people here in the Alpha Site, and a prime candidate for the next spot on the council. No way she could be related to him... "Any relation to Brock?" Couldn't hurt to ask, if he had wanted someone to come here he out of all of them could find a way to get them here. | |

| The name stopped Val cold. She blinked, swallowed hard and tried to say something, but nothing would come out. Finally, "Who did you say?" There was just no way. No way it was him. Had to be some sort of coincidence. Really, it did. | |

| "Brock Turner? I must be mistaken. If we knew the same Mr. Turner you probably wouldn't be quite so upset..." He didn't know how to react to this kind of sharply upset appearance. Clearly whomever she knew by that name had hurt her quite badly, probably the reason she came here. Nobody ever talked about the past here, it was a unanimous decision that the whole subject be taboo unless the person brought it up themselves first. | |

I can introduce you if you'd like, he's usually around here for lunch..." Jeremy moved up on the toes of his shoes, and looked around over the heads of the crowds, scanning for Mr. Turner.

| It was him, it totally was him. No way it wasn't. Calming herself down, despite the fact that her thoughts were racing a mile per second, Val put on her false smile again. "Must be someone else then. But he sounds like someone I'd like to meet, so if you could introduce me..." | |

| By This time Ryan had reached the front of the line and been provided with a large metal serving bowl that seemed like it contained at least half of the entire barbeque. It was a good thing he always woke up so late as it gave the cooks enough time to prepare extra for him. He sometimes felt guilty about eating so much more than anyone else but he tried to make up for it by using his bulk to help out wherever possible.
A couple of the smaller children giggled as they saw him eating, by lifting the huge bowl to his face and grabbing the food directly with his mouth and crunching on the bones. He paused momentarily and grinned and them pretended to growl, they squeeled in mock fright and ran away but were laughing the entire time. Ryan grunted to himself with a slight rumbling chuckle.
That's when he looked up and noticed that someone had lined up a bunch of small rocks on a counter, though some had fallen to the floor, he walked over and bent his massive height double to scoop them all up in one meaty hand to examine them. they were really shiny and sparkled brilliantly when he held them up to the light. "Pretty." He looked up and smiled at the flighty looking girl who had apparently found them, she looked new as well so Ryan was suddenly very careful not to show too many teeth. "Hello?"
