| The roar of applause and screams echo throughout the area as a thick chain separates the crazed fans from the competitors, outside the thick chains, there are numerous reporters, lined up along the crushed velvet carpet leading up to the demonic structure known as the Aegis Coliseum. Famous celebrities walk along the carpet, trying to get as much publicity as possible, answering the odd question or two given to them by the mindless reporters. After the celebrities have entered their viewing seats, a simple man, wearing the garb of a drifter makes his way onto the carpet. The security of the tournament immediately surround him, smirking at the easy prey. One of the skinnier guards goes to crack the butt of his rifle into the drifters temple, before stopped in his tracks by a muscular arm extending out of the hideous garb, the large hand wraps right along the guards face, crushing the helmet and most of the cranium of the poor, idiotic guard. The drifter slowly takes off his garb and stands tall. "IT'S HIM! JULIUS AEGIS!" One of the reporters yells out, as the crowd begins screaming louder than before. "I'll be with you all in just a second..." A smirk befalls upon the face of Julius, as he tosses the lanky guard towards the remainder of them, sending them right across the road, knocking most of them unconscious, and the remainder of them, dead upon the impact. He reaches into his draped toga to pull out a pair of sunglasses as he makes his way down the crushed velvet carpet.
"MR AEGIS! MR AEGIS! May we have a word from you?" A wayward reporter breaks the silence of the ruthless assault on the guards for a brief interview. "Sure, lets here these questions of yours... I have a damned opening ceremony to start here." Julius lets a couple of teeth show in his smirk. "You call this the, and I quote, Tournament of the Ages, end quote... What makes this tournament completely different from all of the others?" The reporter holds a microphone towards Julius. "Well... Unlike all of the other tournaments, this will be broadcast throughout the world... Live. People of the general public are welcome to watch and try and compete within this wonderful tournament... And come on... Since when have you seen such a marvelous tournament held in something like this?" Julius pointed to the demonic structure known as the Aegis Coliseum, before walking away from the reporter, and with a slight click of his fingers, numerous thorned vines draped around the coliseum, the thorns getting larger and larger, before exploding and sending off fireworks and pyrotechnics everywhere. Julius' slight smirk had now become a wide grin, as he took off his sunglasses and stepped into the coliseum.
"How's everyone doing!"

| Incompetent show off. A silver haired young man by all appearances said as he saw the display, and he was not impressed in the least. He might have used his bare hands to kill a single guard, but the warrior that followed a few hundred feet away was no slouch either. The guards that sought to stop him backed off as his glacial blue eyes turned their attention upon them, the few that were left anyway. A reporter rushed up to the man, but she felt a woosh of air, and was struck dumb as her microphone was cut in two by the man's sword as it came out and clicked back into place in its sheath a full five seconds later. "Do not come near me if you value your life." He said, ice cold in every word he spoke as he entered the coliseum as well. The man's name was Vergil, and he was a half breed of demon and human variety. "You might be a mighty warrior, but I am not impressed." Vergil said as he walked by the man, making sure everyone heard him on his way by. "You are a fool to show off as you have." | |

| The crowd would have assumed actual fireworks had been involved in the pyrotechnic display somewhere, and they would have been right. There were a few sparklers in the crowd near the base. The big event, enormous multicolored explosions of light and sound that flashed and danced above the Aegis, was decidedly not man made. Ka glided down the building in a long, spiraling path on his way back towards the door, cutting off an annoyed looking competitor as he muttered towards the reporter behind him. He floated alongside his host for the competition, a mildly imposing and perfectly average specimen of human male. The spirit of fire had long ago grown bored with immortality, and now desired conflict to provide entertainment. A fair fight in his true form, however, was quite simply impossible. He floated into the empty shell, a tattoo on it's chest blazing to life as a symbol of his occupancy. When he left 'The Bartender' it became a blindly obedient tool that did as it asked and then only with minimal effort, but when he was inside of it, it was under his direct control. He could even bestow his own powers to it, but where was the fun in making himself mortal only to become all powerful within that form? He used only the strength necessary to match his opponent. After that, the battle was up to who could use that power with more skill... He walked casually up to and alongside Julius Aegis. "The tournament seems to have drawn in a fair crowd. The only question now is who will be in the first match." | |

| Julius navigated his way through the crowd that had gathered within the waiting halls of the Coliseum, giving the odd handshake now and then. "The tournament seems to have drawn in a fair crowd. The only question now is who will be in the first match." Julius turned around, staring at the being known as Ka. "Patience, Ka... The first battle shall start soon, now I do also encourage that the combatants sign up for their respective types of tournament, so we must try and get everyone inspired to participate in as many tournaments as possible." Julius smirked as he stepped into a casino-style room, with numerous patrons of the Coliseum either betting on the odds, or just losing their money. Julius placed a hand into his pocket and pulled out a small golden poker chip with his name on it. He moved like a snake finding it's next meal through the room, moving his way to a large, roulette table with no other gamblers seated at the lush chairs. "Welcome Mr. Aegis, place your bet." The man in control of the combatants roulette table extended an arm out, holding out his palm as Julius dropped his golden chip into the mans hands and walked off to the sign-up bay.
"You see, Ka. I am a man that wants to give the general public exactly what they want. This tournament is a way for me to... Give back to the public... The people of this world have changed. You look back on history, and you will find that it was variously based on the terms of bloodshed." Julius continued speaking as he held onto a pen and signed up for the Aegis Gauntlet. "But you see, we all didn't grow out of the bloodshed, there is a small part in each and every being on this earth that is fueled on seeing the decimation of others, and even though it doesn't agree with the social norms, there are people that openly show enjoyment from the events that transpire. It really is a cruel world sometime, and we love every last minute of it." Julius had stopped at the main reception desk.
"Yes, please hand Ka his room key. You will enjoy it Ka, it has a training room within it which you can alter for the exact intensity settings you want. Now if you will excuse me, I shall be returning to my quarters."

| Ka took the key from the woman behind the desk and made note of the room number. 451, among his favorite books. He nodded towards Julius and made his way towards the glass walled elevator, pressing the 'close door' button before anyone else made it inside. He liked quiet elevators, not crowded ones. When he finally arrived at his floor, having spent a good moment overlooking the enormous lobbies of the Colosseum, it didn't take him any time at all to get to his room. He simply abandoned his mortal form to wander until it reached the correct door, and settled into his bathtub at about the same instant. Thank heavens, Julius had remembered who he was when he picked this room... The tub was filled with molten lead. | |

| Vergil noticed he had either not been heard, or he was being ignored. In any event, he too signed in his name on the list of combatants before getting a room key as well. Since he was a demon, they had a tournament specifically designed for his race as well, even if he was only half. Still, that alone gave him an edge over most enemies since he could heal at a faster rate, was superior in strength, speed, and dexterity, among other things. The Bloody Palace was to be his home during the course of his own battle, but Vergil didn't care, so long as he gained what he sought the most, which was more power. Power enough to defeat any enemy, no matter how strong they were or how fast was what he wanted most. While he was evil at heart, Vergil still believed in an honorable fight, and unlike his demonic brothers and sisters, would not use dirty tactics or surprise attacks to win. Going up to room 450, Vergil found the accommodations much to his liking. The north wall was full of books written in dozens of different languages, from Arabic to Latin, to even a few in demonic from what his eyes were telling him. The east wall held a mosaic, that of Sparda closing the door to the demonic realm with his sword and power the once proud demon held. His power he would lose when the door shut, but Sparda would still remain a hero long after his death. Mundus on the other hand, his three red eyes in the shape of a triangle, was behind the closing portal, his stone face locked in a scream of rage at the loss of his kingdom on Earth. The west wall though is what held Vergil's attention the most since it had titanium reinforced punching bags and practice dummies. "I may have been mistaken about Julius after all." Shutting the door behind him, Vergil had every intention of warming up before his fights began in the Bloody Palace tournaments.

| Sorin alighted inside the tournament grounds, overshooting the man asking for ID. Standing up he flared out his spectacular black wings, barely missed hitting a stranger in the face. Bringing the wings as close into his body as possible, they were still very noticeable, trying to fit themselves flat on his back and failing. Walking around he sees someone, possibly a steward or an aide of some kind, he reached out with his left hand and grabbed the man by his collar. He pulled the helpless man real close and asked in a voice barely above a whisper.
“Contestants get rooms. Where.” It was not a question it was an order, the man sort of explain mumbled and pointed in the direction giving Sorin his key. Without thanking him Sorin, dropped him and spread his wings taking flight over to his room that had an open balcony seemingly designed with his preferred method of entrance.

| Kale walked forward into the large demonic looking complex known as the Aegis Coliseum. His white hair flowed silently behind him as he walked. He made absolutely no sound. Or maybe it just appeared that way because of the crowd. No one could tell. He walked into the coliseum and signed his name before grabbing his key. He was ready to fight. He was ready to test himself in this competition. He was ready to ascend to a higher place.
A man walked up to him as he stood there in thought "What do you want?" He asked in a barely perceptible voice that oddly could be heard by all in the room. It sounded like a melody the way it rolled off his tongue and blended with the air. "I just came to announce that we have training facilities here if you want to train," he said nervously. It seemed he was either in awe of the people before him or scared for his life. Maybe both. "I have no need to train right now," Kale again said in that voice which rivaled even that of an angel. Maybe because he was half one.

| Ka rose from the lead, which had started to cool to a light crust on top, and passed through a towel mockingly on his way out. Of course, nothing stuck to his immaterial form, and he passed into the body of the Bartender lazily. Julius had determined that the opening match of the tournament, in the eyes of the public, should be a grand and spectacular event. Naturally, he could trust none other than himself to ensure this... And none other than the immortal Ka to survive such a bout. The tattoo of his mark glowed brilliant scarlet as The Bartender stood and left the room, Ka taking direct control of him. The gilded glass elevator took him back down the stairs, where he signed in on the desk before calmly walking into the room with the roulette devices as if he owned it. He spun the first wheel, his mortal form barely making a full revolution of the gigantic metal contraptions. It landed on 'Basic Arena'. He flicked the wheel with one finger, sending it spinning in a blindingly fast rotation that shook the whole device. Too little, too much... Bah, he didn't have time for this. He left the wheel running, knowing full well that it would stop on 'The Aegis Zoo of Wonder'. Perfect... He looked at the table next to it, several dozen decks of silver colored cards laid out next to a pile of golden ones. He picked up a deck and sat down in a plush arm chair. Julius would wonder how they'd wound up in one of the most extravagant locations available for battle on the first try, but he probably wouldn't bother to question it. It fit the agenda anyways.

| "Sir... You have been alerted by the front desk. Something about your...Number being up?" one of the bellhops said to Julius while he sat on his velvet throne. A little too extravagant for the normal person, but hell, Julius liked the way the velvet felt on his demigod ass. "Excellent... I'll be there in the blink of an ey-" And with that, Julius vanished in the blink of an eye, stepping into the Roulette tables section shortly after his little disappearing act. "Ah, Ka... I see you have already made it into this area... And that you have received your cards. Well, time to get mine and see what we have in store for this match of ours."
Julius slowly walked over to the Roulette table that was still spinning, before picking up his silver cards. "Stop you damned roulette table!" With the echo of Julius' voice, the roulette table came to a screeching halt, the table moving up off the floor a few inches, before crashing down. The needle pointed to a strange symbol. "Excuse me... What does this exactly mean?" Julius pointed to the symbol displayed on the table. "Well sir, this symbol stands for Environmental Kill, where the only way you can kill your opponent, is to create a weapon from the environment that isn't normally used as a weapon." The man at the table said with a smile.
"Excellent, excellent... Alright then, take us to the arena." And with that simple speech, Ka and Julius were transported to their arena... The Aegis Zoo of Wonder.
