| Submitter: Mike Contest Name: Summer's End Poem Title: Drained By The Memory
This country's long since lost it's summer, There used to be sun, sea and sand, These isles hostile now to walker, and runner, The rains come, darkness shrouds this land.
My childhood was full of hot, scorching days, pained by bee-stings, sunburn and heat, Remembering the times, our fun, our old ways, The days at the beach, new friends we would meet.
Gone are these memories, time ticks on, Our lives move forward in the shade, Our future lying cold, leaving us with none, Of the sun we once had, we are now betrayed.
Still we move forward, pale and cold, This frequency fizzing and vacant, Reports of weather from the radio, uncomfortable and old, This isle now holds us, permanently stationed.

| Submitter: Wasted Contest Name: Summers end Poem Title: As the leafs fall
As the leafs fall I think more of how my summer went. Was it good or bad? was it every thing i expected? As the leafs fall.. my emotions are mixed..
I'm sad because I will miss the summer fun. The heat.. swimming and hanging out with friends..
I'm happy because The next season is fall.. fall brings colorful leafs... and halloween..
Now that the leafs are falling.. I am longing for the new adventures.. the next season holds...

Every time he looks away, Every time his gaze will stray, Her heart breaks a little more each day, As he drifts further away.
Her love ignored and trust shattered; Apparently her feelings don't matter. Left all alone, but nobody cares, So she sits alone and stares.
Stares at the knife; stares at the gun, Thinking that her life is one stupid pun. Wanting it to stop, needing it to end; Only then will her broken heart mend.

| Submitter: Mike Contest Name: Rhyming Poem Title: Monster
See this, this monstrous evil thing, It grows and billows, over the town below. We pray not, it open mouth and sing, For fear and hate, it hurts enough to show.
Staggering forth, the beast, it's strength clear, Trampling below, people scatter in panic. It's rampaging stride, forces expression of fear, Monstrous roar, sounding pained, yet manic.
One man risen, claiming unearthly power, Takes to the village, beast waits, unscathed. Distained looks, this man does not cower, Takes to his blade, swift blow, beast lathe'd.
The corpse falls, crashing to ground, Villagers cheer, a saviour holds their court. Then a hand raised, for moment, not a sound, Hero waits, mind deep in thought.
The beast reawakens, angered and raw, Rising to its feet, filled with rage, all consuming. The man looks up, seeing defiler of holy law, Preparing for battle, once again resuming.
However there is change, and the beast is small, No bigger than a man, no stronger, humbled. The hero rises up, once more, no fear at all, Strikes beast with blade, head sliced, tumbled.

Rain lashes, Wind soars. Lightning flashes, Thunder roars.
Steady beats, upon the roof. Storming seas, are on the move.
Violent emotions, Explode from within. Dangerous oceans, Of lust filled sin.
Screaming feelings, Rage deep inside. Bursting with meaning, With no place to hide.
Light breaches, The clouds recede. Calming beaches, The sighing seas.
Emotions revealed, in a longing calm. Her fate is sealed, In the soothing song.

| Submitter: Mike Contest Name: Ballad To Spring Poem Title: Transition
Cold, it blows, to the face of the youngest one, Winter wool shelter cold skin, soon be gone. Soon the new season will fall upon us, banish cold, Stop this chilled feeling, stop us from feeling old. Clasping gloved hand, child skips in the last snow, Frolicking footsteps, not long for this icy show.
Leaf pokes new life through a crack in the ice, Beginning of this, new season, this feeling is nice. Released finally from the grasp of previous season, New green world blossoms, seemingly without reason. Grabbing the sun by it's arms, hoisting from ground, Birds return from migration, their sweet pleasant sound.
Trees and grass showing up where land was once bare, Blooming in green, in colour visible, cold season unaware. Dancing in sunlight, in fresh rain, causing rainbows, Colours the spectrum wide, all seven misty glows. Bringing out the best in of the earth, renewed, rebirth, Children play in the sun, the spectrum, their mirth.
All too soon the warmth increases, sun bakes us all, From the largest of trees, to the blades of grass so small. A new season beckons, brings beaches and sand and sun, Summer approaches, leaving springtime ties undone. The heat approaches, the days stretch themselves long, And yet all throughout it all, birds continue with their song.

| Lynn: Limerick Poems: BJ:
My baby keeps me up all night. He’ll cry from the evening 'til first light. He drives me so crazy I just want to cry, But then he’ll smile and I could fly, Now my life feels like it’s just right.

There once was a girl by a stream. Who became oh so startled she screamed. The frog that she kissed, Was just not a prince. Which meant she couldn't be queen.
