Contest #2: Rhyming

Come round my fellow writers and poets! This is the second poetry contest and it is a little harder this time. Do not fear!

Poetry Contest # 2

Dates: November 18 until December 20, 2009

Theme: Rhyming, but you can choose what the poem is going to be about.

Guidelines:

* Maximum of six stanzas.
* Descriptions are a must.
* Must make sense.
* Must make sense. No Crazy poems about ridiculous subjects. This time around you are allowed to write out a silly poem, but there are limits and you should know your limits. (Please nothing about Mushrooms or cows or anything of inappropriate material.)
* You have control what you want to poem be about. Remember, though its important that it flows and rhymes.

My Balloon is Full of Chemistry

My balloon was full of hydrogen
I did it on a dare
My balloon was filled with lithium
It floated in the air
I filled my balloon with calcium
By pouring in some milk
I filled my balloon with sodium
But it didn’t feel like silk
I set my balloon on fire
To turn the insides to gas
But it turned into a pyre
And a plastic heaping mass
It didn’t float to balloon heaven
Where I wanted it to go
Shoulda’ filled it with some helium
But now I guess I know
I’ll fill it with some helium
And the pressure in the sky
Will pop my balloon named Kelvin
And rain plastic in someone’s eye.
