Contest #1 - Summer's End

Okay, I think we have enough members that we can start this contest now. And hopefully, by the time the entry date is over, the Dollar Store will be up and running. ^_^

Poetry Contest # 1

Dates: August 18, 2009 until September 18, 2009

Theme: The end of Summer and how you feel about it.

Guidelines:

• Maximum of seven stanzas.
  
• Descriptions are a must.
  
• Must make sense. No Crazy poems about Ravioli and mushrooms this first time.
  
• The rest is up to you. This is a pretty free forum poem, being it's the first one.

If you have any question or concerns on anything, PM either Ace, Mai, or Kaely Kae.

Good luck guys, and as Ralph Waldo Emerson said; Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them and their value will never be known. Improve them and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life.

As the Sun Shines the Leaves Shall Fall

The sun shines down on the heated land.
I watch the leaves fall from the bottle Brush trees.
I touched the glass of the bay window
As I watched the season change in slow motion.
The trees threw aside their summer coats preparing,
For the chill to come.

And I think back upon the summer months,
And the events that occurred.
Hoping it would never change on me,
But it is not so fair, as summer feels like the shortest of seasons.
The freedom which it had brought me does not change at all.

So time is passing and nothing is everlasting,
I say to myself as the summer ends,
"It will come again for me and for all."
It will grace us again and that makes me smile.
Summer is after all a time of memories.
